+ REVIEWS:
Laptopmag reviews the Winbook T230, they rated the laptop 2.5/5 and write:
“The 1.6-GHz Intel Core T2300 means plenty of processing power for demanding chores. The T230 delivered a score of 236 on our MobileMark 2005 test, putting it near the front of the pack among the thin-and-light models we’ve tested this year. With a score of 1,016 on 3DMark03, the embedded Intel GMA 950 GPU delivers enough 3D kick for occasional low-res 3D gaming…Pros: Good performance, Spacious hard drive , Attractive price. Cons: Mediocre battery life, Bland style.”
Hardware Central reviews the Winbook T230, they rated the laptop 12/15 and write:
“The T230’s LCD makes even small text sizes and icons sharp and legible; colors were crisp, though as with most laptops we found ourselves liking only the top two or three of the backlight brightness settings….The T230 exceeds our minimum 90-minute battery life by 33 percent — it lasted almost exactly two hours in several mixed work and multimedia sessions, squeezing out another 10 minutes in low-stress word processing stints. An annoying feature was the beeping alarm that began whenever battery reserve dropped to 10 percent, though we hadn’t specified an audio alarm in Windows’ power-options panel and couldn’t find an alarm on/off setting in the WinBook’s BIOS screens.”
PCworld reviews the Winbook T230, they rated the laptop 71/100 and write:
“The T230 can easily handle mainstream tasks such as word processing and photo editing. Helped by 1GB of 533-MHz DDR2 memory and asmiddle-of-the-road 1.66-GHz Core Duo T2300 processor, our T230 test unit earned a WorldBench 5 score of 86, splitting the difference between two other 1.66-GHz-equipped notebooks we’ve tested–Sony’s VAIO VGN-FE570G (82) and Asus’s A6Jc (90)…Pros: Light for a 14-inch notebook, Has a big hard drive. Cons: Short battery life, Access to internals is cumbersome”
