Vita Audio R1 is a single speaker all-in-one featuring a sleek design suitable for home office corner and is available in many colors too. Other features include; DAB and FM tuners, two-line LCD and Vita’s “RotoDial” controller as well as 1/8-inch input for MP3 players and analog output.

“The rounded sides, pressed steel front and back panels, and chunky controls combine to create a pleasingly simple, retro look that would suit any home style, old or new. What’s more, if you don’t like the wood veneer finishes there’s a choice of high-gloss (vita) red and (dream) white lacquers as well. A dark grey finish used to exist too, and you may still be able to find these in the shops, but they’re no longer produced. ”

“In terms of sound this is a superb wee radio. I’ve been listening to it on my office desk for some time (the red version which looks absolutely gorgeous). The speaker gives and extended range and sounds deep and natural. It is not, absolutely not a bright tinny sound. This is a real radio, easy to use, graphics are easy to read and can be warmly recommended. This will inevitably be compared agaist the Tivoli, it is every bit as good, if not better.”

“Changing stations is very intuitive buttons labelled up/down and OK. Setting and changing alarm and timer settings involves short or long presses of the dedicated buttons. Ten favourite stations can be committed to memory simply by holding the numbered buttons in for a short time. ”
