AnythingButIpod reviews the TrekStor Vibez MP3 Player and writes;

“If overly great battery life, a huge screen, or flash memory are not the most required features in a player, or if one learns to cope with the scroll wheel, then the Vibez certainly might be worth considering.”

TrustedReviews reviews the TrekStor Vibez MP3 Player and writes;

“TrekStor’s vibez has a really easy-to-use interface and the wheel works as well as any iPod. There are plenty of features to play with, plus there’s wide file format support, superb sound quality and excellent bundled earbuds. If you don’t need video playback and don’t want to buy an iPod it’s a worthy contender for a place on your shortlist”

Audioholic reviews the TrekStor Vibez MP3 Player and writes;

“Overall, I like the TrekStor Vibez. It is cool - packed with features and loads of disk space for carrying around your MP3’s, or better yet a large selection of lossless format digital music. While the menu system is easy to navigate, using the magnetically mounted scroll wheel is not.”

ITReviews reviews the TrekStor Vibez MP3 Player and writes;

“Without a doubt, the vibez stands out amongst other MP3 players. There’s a particular quality about the vibez that makes it feel comfortable in the hand. A combination of the aforementioned curves, the unassuming 3.2oz. weight and the mixture of surface textures all seem to work well…”

DigitalTrends reviews the TrekStor Vibez MP3 Player and writes;

“I found that the physical design of the vibez player is unique and certainly maintains a strong level of appeal. It’s not a run-of-the-mill rectangular or round MP3 player…The audio quality was excellent, a finding that left me very surprised. Even with the stock headphones, the vibez produced great sounding audio. ”
Rating: ★★★½☆

CNET reviews the TrekStor Vibez MP3 Player and writes;

The good: The TrekStor Vibez features a stylish, original design; innovative auto-DJ features; voice and line-in recording; dedicated volume controls; advanced photo-viewing features; and an optional FM tuner. The scroll-wheel interface simplifies song searches. The bad: Album-art option renders text almost unreadable on the TrekStor Vibez, and the FM tuner is not included. The chrome back shows fingerprints and smudges; there’s no dedicated hold switch; and the scroll wheel is hard to push accurately. The bottom line: Better than the iPod Nano in many respects, the TrekStor Vibez scores with its dazzling looks, excellent interface, and solid performance. ”
Rating: ★★★½☆

Madman2K reviews the TrekStor Vibez MP3 Player and writes;

“There is no perfect player for everyone; the Vibez will be to small for people which don’t like compressing their songs with a lossy codec or simply have a larger music library. Its display wont fit the needs of those which want to view pictures with it, but it pretty much suits me and the few inconveniences I still have with it can be solved with a firware update.”

+ PRESS RELEASE

Lorsch, 16.11.2006 – TrekStor, the leading manufacturer of high quality MP3 players, external hard disks and USB sticks today announces the release of the latest highlight in its MP3 player range – the TrekStor vibez. The premium MP3 player – first presented at the IFA consumer electronics trade fair in Berlin – compels particularly with its eye catching curved forms and replaceable lithium ion battery allowing 20 hours’ musical ecstasy. The new player can also be upgraded optionally with an FM tuner card for additional radio entertainment. The new player is available with 8 and 12 gigabytes (GB) of storage capacity, enough space to save up to 3,000 songs. A 15 GB version and further accessories are planned for the second quarter of 2007.

All inclusive
Measuring 105 x 50 x 18 mm, the TrekStor vibez – comprising a wieldy, oval, soft touch casing and rounded, stainless steel back plate – sits elegantly and sexily in the hand. Besides MP3, WMA, WAV, OGG and FLAC, the gadget also supports WMA-DRM (Digital Rights Management) 9 and 10 formats. In DJ mode, the TrekStor vibez automatically generates play lists sorted to reflect the listener’s mood. While an integrated microphone enables it to be used as a dictation machine, a line in jack also allows music to be uploaded from other audio devices. In addition to this, the Cover Art function can be used to display the CD cover of the played songs on a 176 x 132 pixel, full color TFT display. A vibez design cleaning cloth and two vibez logo stickers are also included in the deliverables.

Matching accessories make the TrekStor vibez even more compelling: wired remote control, a docking station with battery charger and infra-red remote control, as well as three different neoprene bags. Replacement rechargeable batteries are naturally also available from the manufacturer.

Price and availability
The TrekStor vibez is now available from all the usual specialist outlets at a retailers’ recommended price (RRP) of €199.00 (8 GB) or €219.00 (12 GB). All prices are inclusive of VAT (sales tax).
