+ REVIEWS:
Laptopmag reviews the TomTom One, they rated the gps 4/5 and write:
“In fact, everything about the One works. In our tests, the SiRFstarIII chipset provided excellent reception, and satellite acquisition times lasted only a few seconds. The integrated lithium-ion battery is rated for two hours of use and can charge from the included DC adapter or your own mini-USB cable…Pros: Small, Quick satellite transition times, Easy to use, Bluetooth for optional traffic service. Cons: Less accurate at short distances, Small screen .”
PocketGPSworld reviews the TomTom One, they write:
“Pro’s: Slim case and size, Excellent GPS reception thanks to SiRFStarIII, Good Audio Volume, Tried and tested Navigator 5 software, Excellent value for money, Full support for .ov2 format POI’s including Safety Cameras, Full UK 7 Digit PostCode support. Con’s: Poorly positioned power LED, Power socket difficult to locate, Lack of mains power adapter…The TomTom ONE is in many cases a better purchase than the more expensive GO 300. The GPS reception is superb, the design makes it pocketable and easy to hold and the software is the ever popular Navigator 5 with it’s POI and PostCode support.”
YourNav reviews the TomTom One, they write:
“Of course I was curious about the capacity of the battery. According to TomTom’s official specifications, the battery of the ONE should last about two hours. This seems a bit modest to me, because our test example surpassed that specification easily. The battery lasted for 3 hours and 35 minutes before giving up. That should be enough for most road trips, even with a few traffic jams included. And I didn’t only navigate during the battery test, but also used the Bluetooth connection for Traffic and downloading the weather forecast. Not bad, not bad at all…”
