DigitalTrends reviews the T-Mobile Wing and writes;
“The 2.0 megapixel camera is what you would expect from an average cell phone. The pictures have crisp colors, thanks to the wonderful screen, but the now-cliché cell phone camera blurring effect is fully present here – anything less than a stone-steady hand will give you an unrecognizable shape. With its powerful architecture, it’s unfortunate that the versatile T-Mobile Wing couldn’t up the camera ante.”

PhoneArena reviews the T-Mobile Wing and writes;
“The Wing is a great replacement for the MDA. In a time where slim phones are in, the Wing is a monster in size but it is very comfortable at the same time. If using a stylus bothers you, then there is always the iPhone, HTC Touch, Samsung F700, and LG Prada to consider. If not, then the Wing is a great phone for those that want a PDA, MP3 player, camera, and phone all in one easy to use package.”

Brighthand reviews the T-Mobile Wing and writes;
“I don’t consider this a drawback. The inclusion of a relatively big keyboard and screen makes this smartphone ideal for people who frequently exchange lots of emails or text messages, but at the same time this pushes the device’s bulk — and price — up considerably.”

CNET reviews the T-Mobile Wing and writes;
“The good: The T-Mobile Wing smart phone runs Windows Mobile 6 Professional Edition and has integrated Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. It sports a revamped design with a slide-out full QWERTY keyboard, and it offers a 2-megapixel camera and good call quality. The bad: The Wing is on the heavier side and is sometimes sluggish when numerous apps are in use. Without the backing of a 3G network, Web browsing and data speeds are on the slower side when compared with the competition. The bottom line: With the addition of Windows Mobile 6, the T-Mobile Wing adds a powerful smart phone to the carrier’s lineup; however, performance falls a bit short of the competition. ”

ComputerWorld reviews the T-Mobile Wing and writes;
“For $300, the T-Mobile Wing is a reasonable value, given the phone’s versatile functionality, stellar call quality and excellent battery life. My greatest concerns about the phone involve its limited onboard storage and its poorly constructed buttons. In the longer term, I’d worry about the integrity of that slider mechanism. But those concerns aside, the Wing makes a great package, especially if you value the easy input that a touch screen affords, together with the computing flexibility of Windows Mobile.”

LaptopMag reviews the T-Mobile Wing and writes;
“As a phone, the Wing could use some improvement. Call quality was inconsistent in our experience. Listening through the earpiece was generally okay, although the phone tended to pick up a lot of background noise. Our buddies said they heard echoes over the speakerphone. Support for T-Mobile’s myFaves service allows unlimited calls to your choice of five people regardless of whether they’re in or out of the network or on a landline.”

MobileTechReview reviews the T-Mobile Wing and writes;
“Though not an earth-shattering upgradge to the T-Mobile MDA, the Wing is competive with other US carrier’s recent HTC slider phone offerings other than the lack of 3G (not the phone’s fault, but rather T-Mobile’s US network). If your MDA is gettng old and creaky, the Wing will make a nice replacement with its appreciably slimmer design, grippy coating, more capable Bluetooth, updated OS and an improved camera. Battery life is super by Windows Mobile Professional standards, but the slower CPU speed vs. competitors from other carriers isn’t a plus.”

PocketNow reviews the T-Mobile Wing and writes;
“At first I was a bit turned off by the blue coloring, but it has since grown on me. Everyone has black or grey phones, the dark blue is quite a refreshing change. And I can’t get enough of the “soft touch” skin covering the device. That combined with the excellent build quality is sure to make the Wing very popular with T-Mobile’s Windows Mobile fans. ”

MobilitySite reviews the T-Mobile Wing and writes;
“The T-Mobile Wing is a solid replacement for the any HTC Wizard Variant. (T-Mobile MDA/Cingular 8125) When compared to the Wizard, the performance is not a huge increase, but having Windows Mobile 6 and it’s additions make it a worth the upgrade. If you are still carrying the MDA, the keyboard is probaly so loose that it slides open whenever it wants anyway and the spring loaded keyboard on the Wing should be a welcome fix for you. This phone is pretty slim for a slider, it’s really amazing. The styling of this phone make it a looker for those that care what your phone looks like. I definately recommend this phone to anyone on the T-Mobile network. I am not sure it’s worth swaping carriers, but I would have to consider.

PCMag reviews the T-Mobile Wing and writes;
“Essentially, it’s a matter of personal preference whether you like this design, or if you would rather have a slab-style QWERTY smartphone such as T-Mobile’s own Dash or the BlackBerry 8800. With the Wing, you get a roomier keyboard, not to mention the touch screen, stylus, and Windows Mobile 6 Professional. And it’s finally a viable voice phone. But the Wing’s slow CPU is one carryover from the MDA that shouldn’t have made the transition. The reduced battery life is perplexing, but not a deal-breaker. ”

T-Mobile Wing Features New Advances in Software Including Windows Mobile 6
The T-Mobile Wing is the first new device brought to market in the U.S. to be powered by Microsoft Windows Mobile 6, offering faster access to contacts, the ability to view and edit Microsoft Office documents, and even richer Web experiences. Windows Mobile 6 supports HTML e-mail so that people can view and compose e-mail messages in their original HTML format with live links to Web sites, support for images, tables and bullets. Text and images are displayed as they would be on a PC, whether from their Microsoft Office Outlook and Exchange Server account, from a Web-based account such as Windows Live Hotmail or from a myriad of other popular service providers.
T-Mobile Wing customers will also enjoy integrated Windows Live services, including Windows Live Messenger, to chat with more than one person at a time and to express themselves through emoticons; Windows Live Hotmail that is up-to-date and delivered directly to the device; all contacts in a unified, presence-enabled list; Live Search to quickly and efficiently search the Web for news, local businesses and entertainment, directions, maps, images, and more; and Windows Live Spaces to access links to friends’ spaces within contact cards and send photos directly to their space from the Wing.
“The T-Mobile Wing with Windows Mobile 6 helps people stay connected with friends, family and colleagues, whether they’re in the office or on the go,” said John O’Rourke, general manager, Mobile Communications Business, Microsoft Corp. “The T-Mobile Wing’s work and play features help people take their PC experience on the road with them, making sure they’re always in touch.”
The included Outlook Mobile software offers up-to-date e-mail, calendar and contact information. I have had the wing now for about 3 weeks and its great…the only down side is that it freezes a lot…is there any way to keep it from freezing. I haven’t downloaded anything on my phone and have very few pictures. Any suggestions.
thanks
the wing lacks the faster 400+ mhz processors of the other companies. it also lacks program memory. t mobile is compensating the cheap technology with cool exterior and new programs .
I’ve had the Wing now for 3 months now and this phone is driving me crazy!
Its always freezing up and I can’t save more than a few pictures to my phone because it slows it down!
The phone is soooooo slow and lacks memory, and the funny thing is my mom has a cheaper phone than I do and it works a ton better, and she has a better camera! …. weird!
The price of ths phone does not meet the quality it should have. If you haven’t got this phone and are interested… don’t! settle for a cheaper model or read reviews of another. But stay away from this phone!
It looks cool, but its complicated! I still get confused using this bugger. And everyone says its like a brick? well it is heavy haha
Can’t wait to upgrade once again!
THE THING ABOUT THIS PHONE ITS HOT AND THE CAM. IS A GREAT NO FLASH THO THATS STILL OKAY CUZ THIS PHONE MOS DEF HELP U GET ALL THE WOMEN HAND DOWN GIRLS LOVE A MAN WIT A BIG PHONE….I GIVE THIS PHONE A TWO THUMBS WAY UP.. FOR THE FREEZING IF U LOOKING AT PORN ON THE INTERNET THEN THATS WAT WILL MAKE UR PHONE FREEZE GO TO THE SETTING AND THEN SYSTEM AND CLEAN UR MEMORY BY GOIN TO RUNNING PROGRAMS AND STOPING ALL THE PROGRAMS AND CLEANING UR INTERNETHISTORY.. THIS IS WHY IT FREEZE UP LIKE THAT AND STOP GOIN ON MYSPACE ON THIS MOBLIE)))))))))) THIS MOBLIE IS NOT SUPPORTED BY THESE ENSCRIPTION. THIS WILL MAKE THE PHONE GO BACK TO THE REAL SPEED ITS SUPPOSE TO BE.. EASY AS PIE…
Are you kidding me? What did you say? Can somebody please translate this post for me?
Does anyone know how to set it up where a song on ur phone can play as a ring tone?
if u go to where u have ur music saved touch and hold it with the stylis and an option will show in the list sayin set as ring tone but in will also copy the song into the ringtone folder in my documents
Its like this with the Wing you need to buy a Scan Disk memory Card I recommend a 1GB move & Save all your pictures, your note files, mOBile word files and downloads
you can also find free software that Will Clean your bad files. And if you get the free download of “Magic Button” you can fully close any programs opened because with the Wing even if you hit the Close Program Icon it does not fully close it. One More Idea is instead of using the email wizard on the phone if you have yahoo use “yahoo Go”. If you have Your Email Coming to your phone it can take Up memory as well
I Love My wing it has millions of great features i call it my super phone winmobile ^ is the shiznit only downside i think is needs more internal memorry and faster Proccessor woulda been nice but i guess that will be the next version :)
how do you bypass the emergency password screen? i really need some help cause i bought a wing from some guy on craigslist and it needs a password and he stopped picking up my calls when i asked for it so if i could get some response it would be really helpful
the tomobile wing works great its a computer rite in your hand the camera is great even without the flash it can hold a lot of stuff in it before it runs slow my tmobile wing has about 300 songs 30 videos and about 100-150 pictures in it and I still have a lot of space.. you can do whatever you want on the go and it has word on here making it easier to type your papers it has all da same functions you do on microsoft word.I give this fone a two thumbs up
I know im kind of but I’ve have the wing for about 3 months now. compared to my previous phone the sidekick slide this phone is awesome.
Theres always bad with the good. The send button on the keypad is right above the letters R & T so I was constantly sending unfinished messages by mistake. Also this is a touch screen phone so make sure your phone is lock when not in use. Otherwise you’ll be making a lot of calls without knowing. It freezes up a lot and sometimes when starting the camera it says not enough memory to run even after stopping all other programs. That usually means you need to restart your phone. I have a 4gb memory card so that has helped a lot with the memory problem.
The camera on the phone is great to me but any camera is better than the camera they have on a sidekick. The only down side is no flash..so no night time pictures. The clarity of the pics are great. Overall it’s a good be phone but it could be great with a few modifications.
How did you get a 4 gb card to work in the wing?
