T-Mobile Sidekick Slide
The device is the most compact Danger powered device created to-date. From a volume stand point alone, it is 25% smaller than the previous generations of T-Mobile’s Sidekick family. The handset features Danger’s application software, which includes push e-mail, full HTML Web browsing, instant messaging, mobile phone, calendar, address book and media player, as well as a consistently updated content catalog. Additional benefits of Danger’s service include always-on internet connection, automatic data back-up, and ongoing feature and user-experience improvements. Users also have the option to access their data and applications from any Web-enabled computer.
Integrated software experience
The Sidekick Slide (the high resolution QVGA display slides open to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard) has been designed to provide a rich consumer messaging experience for an Internet savvy, always-on lifestyle.
The software experience is similar to other Danger powered devices. Each application runs concurrently to enable true multitasking. For example, a user can chat with up to 25 friends in instant messaging and surf the Web simultaneously. Similarly, the integration of the applications on the device translates to an elegant end user experience. With one click, phone numbers can be selected and dialed from Web pages or any text field (along with Web URLs and email addresses) and mailing addresses from the contact list can be instantly mapped on the Web – again with one click.
The software on the device is brought to life by Danger’s service, which manages a secure always-on connection to the Internet and enables messages and alerts to be pushed to users in real time. The same service pre-processes Web pages and other content so that it is optimized for viewing on the handset.

I would strongly not recommend this phone… to anyone. Too many problems plague it currently. For instance, in the one month I’ve owned it, I’ve had about 3 major problems with it.
The first is that the slide will often crash for no reason when you close the screen. It just shuts off. No explanation at all.
The second is that the slide also restarts without warning. There’s no system updates or anything happening, it’ll just restart.
The third and probably biggest problem, is that no data is saved on the actual device. This means that if it crashes, it will have to redownload all of your information from the internet. And if you can’t connect to the internet, which mine currently can’t, oh well.
wll,if you bought the slide when it first came out,it will have problems, but, they mad a factory recall and you have to go to tmobile to gt the new slid with no problems,i have the slide and it doesnt give me problems, but you should go into tmobile and se whats wrong with it
True sidekick slide suck’s i hve one And belive me its to much to handle so many problems with it..not the best phone i should of stick to the lx only 1oo bucks more no worrys
im on my sidekick slide as i type. it comes in handy when my computer is down or im not near a computer. it only crashes when you slide it down to hard. i havent really had any problems with mine. ive heard that some of the sidekick slides had glitches, and if it does that stuff your supposed to send it back to t-mobile and there supposed to fix it.
the only thing that i find bad about the phone is the size. i usually end up having to carry it in my hand, since my pockets arent that big and i dont carry a purse. honestly though, its not that big of a problem.
yeah i don’t know what you guys are saying i have a slide and i love it. i havent had any problems with it so far it doesnt crash out of no where but it did restart on me ONE time that isnt going to kill me…i think its perfect size besdies the lx the lx is really perfect but compared to the other sidekicks, i love it way more..like the 3 i hate it i feel like its way to big bc im so used to my little slide..but yeah i reccommend it to people its a really good phone
This is my first sidekick, period, and I love it! Its way better than the t mobile shadow which I had 3 of. That damn thing would freeze for no reason, but my slide has been dropped no less than 5 times and I have no problems
When I had the slide, it was the best phone ever. I never had any problems with it and it never froze for no reason. Obviously, its a great phone considering someone stole it from me. ;l BUT, if you want to get it, then get insurance for it. Becuase if you don’t, well you’ll be in my shoes, without a phone.
hahah i was on my third shadow and hate those phones…have the slide now and have not had any so far….DONT GET THE Shadow
