+ REVIEWS:

CNET Australia reviews the Sony HDR-SR1, they rated the camcorder 8.1/10 and write:
“From tests we conducted, the video quality of the SR1 turned out to be quite good. It especially shone in outdoor recordings but was a little grainy indoors and under low-light settings. The Super NightShot feature worked well and recorded footages of this reviewer’s kids in the bedroom at night with the lights off. However, as expected, the night recordings suffered a quality dip…A great feature of the SR1 is the Dual Recording capability which lets you shoot still images while recording a movie. You can shoot up to three shots per recording at 2.3 megapixels, but honestly, the picture quality is really not up to the mark.”

Camcorderinfo reviews the Sony HDR-SR1, they write:
“The Sony HDR-SR1 produced stills that had outstandingly crisp look to them, compared to other camcorders in its class. Identical to the HDR-UX1, the camcorder actually created a little too much in-camera sharpening, which resulted in some botched pixels, but you really have to zoom in to see that…High-capacity media like the 30GB HDD in the SR1 is what people will lean towards as they become more available. It’s a simple matter of convenience: 30GB can hold 4 hours of AVCHD video in the highest quality”

CNET reviews the Sony HDR-SR1, they rated the camcorder 8/10 and write:
The good: Hard disk holds about four hours of best-quality HD video; sharp, saturated, low-noise video; excellent build quality; fast, smooth focus with effective image stabilization. The bad: Mediocre still photos; frequent motion artifacts in video; lame but necessary bundled software; no windscreen filter for microphone. The bottom line: The Sony Handycam HDR-SR1’s combination of hard disk capacity, easy adapatability, great design, and a broad feature set make it the consumer HD model to beat for 2006.”

DigitalcameraHQ reviews the Sony HDR-SR1, they rated the camcorder 4/5 and write:
“The HDR-SR1 is good for up to 1080 lines of resolution in HD mode (and up to 10 hours of footage in LP mode), and also boasts the ability to take 4-megapixel still photos, written either to the hard drive or to an optional Memory Stick.”
