Sony-GC1 Reviews

Infosync reviews the Sony-GC1 and writes;

“The GC1 is certainly a jack-of-all trades, and manages to pack a lot of standard features from more expensive point-and-shoots into its funky-looking package. It scored well in most of our categories, but the image quality suffers from an extremely low-quality lens, and being the most important aspect of a digital camera, it suffered. ”

First Video Upload of Sony-GC1;

Paulstamatiou reviews the Sony-GC1 and writes;

“Video quality is not impressive and audio quality is good for low volume indoor voices and the like but anything louder results in noticeable distortion…For me though, the GC1 seems like the perfect camcorder to take around to social events and not have to worry about breaking, like I do with “real” cameras.”

CNET reviews the Sony-GC1 and writes;

The good: Stylish black design; 2.4-inch pivoting LCD screen. The bottom line: With a dearth of features and middling video quality, the otherwise stylish Sony NSC-GC1 pocket camcorder fails to justify its premium price.”
Rating: ★★★☆☆

CamcorderInfo reviews the Sony-GC1 and writes;

“The NSC-GC1 is a total internet video production solution for bloggers and budget consumers. Even those who are brand spanking new to the internet video craze will have no problem uploading their videos online. The NSC-GC1’s built-in Picture Motion Browser software is actually easier and less time consuming than going straight through YouTube. It automatically starts up when the camcorder is connected to a computer via USB. ”

My husband and I are totally retarded when it comes to techie-things but this little thing is wonderful for our purposes, although we found it somewhat hard to operate (please understand the source here….even a regular camera is “difficult” for us). The price was totally acceptable at Walmart and we added a larger memory-card (correct word???) so we don’t have to charge it constantly when we film our golf-swings. In short, a great thing for people like us who just want it simple and not professional.

The guy who did the first review isn’t very smart… You Don’t need to use the charger that is almost as big as the camera. You can charge off of usb, Or as I have found, Motorola charger that has the mini USB end, as well the moto car charger works perfect too.

You put your index finger just above the line on the front. That’s there so you can feel it so you don’t have to look.

The cam is built to be small, and functional. It is much easier to hold and film movies rather then a standard video camera.

The quality of the filming drop considerably when you switched to your POS cam.

You failed to mention the built in software that comes on the camera that is accessable when you connect the usb. You can use it on any pc with usb, with no other software, its right on the cam.

You also failed to mention that the cam can be used as a webcam as well.

As for it standing up, its a no brainer that you flip the lcd down to stand it. even better, it does have a tripod mount on the bottom, and walmart sells a nice little tripod for $9 that is about 12″ high and has bendy legs that you can wrap around things to mount a camera.

You also forgot the built in memory on the camera, although not very much.

you also forgot the software that comes with it that makes it easy to upload right to youtube or other media sites.

You also forgot about the sharemarking.

and what camera can you take out side one a super windy day and not expect to get wind noise. I have taken mine out on some fairly windy days and gotten no noise from wind. You must had a tornado near you osslt.
