Sony Ericsson W580i Reviews
MobileChoice reviews the Sony Ericsson W580i and writes;
“A very easy to use phone and the Walkman player is fun. The five-way navigation pad controls the player when in Walkman mode but the addition of motion sensors allows you to skip tracks with an abrupt flick of your wrist. Having to keep the front Walkman button pressed before shaking is a hassle, and we found it was just as quick to use the normal controls to change tunes.”

MobileTechReview reviews the Sony Ericsson W580i and writes;
“If you to listen music frequently on your phone, this is a great choice at an entry to mid-tier price range. Call quality is excellent and EDGE data speeds are quite good on AT&T. The 2 megapixel camera takes great photos and the M2 slot is very handy to store photos and music tracks. We wish that the phone had better battery life for calls and standby..”

LaptopMag reviews the Sony Ericsson W580i and writes;
“The Sony Ericsson Walkman W580i is one of the few phones that offers excellent music quality for a budget price. For just $79, you get volume, bass, and enough features to entertain athletes and road warriors alike. We love the Shake Control and the included high-end earbuds. If you can deal with the small buttons and not-so-speedy Web browsing, you’ll get your money’s worth and then some.”

WirelessInfo reviews the Sony Ericsson W580i and writes;
“We found ourselves liking the W580i a lot. The Walkman-branded handset has a very good music player, and takes better-than-average photos and has a decent Web browser. We had concerns about the limited music playback battery life, and the hardware feels a little cheap… For those on a budget and looking for a music phone, the W580i is a worthy alternative to the iPhone.”

InfoSync reviews the Sony Ericsson W580i and writes;
“Pros: Good calling. Fun alerts. Best-in-class music player. Cool gimmicks don’t detract from a solid phone. Cons: Few messaging presets. Stiff, small keys. Disappointing camera. No 3G connectivity or advanced music features.”

CNET.UK reviews the Sony Ericsson W580i and writes;
“The W580i is an attractive Walkman phone that comes in handy if you like listening to music and exercising. We’re not altogether sure about the flashing lights and shaking feature, but it’s a refreshing addition to the Walkman range and we hope to see more innovation in the future”

Macnn reviews the Sony Ericsson W580i and writes;
“the interface was also wonderfully simplified compared to our last tests. Everything was laid out in simple, hierarchical menus with logical controls… The W580i strikes us as a very balanced phone. Both music and phone service seem to work well in equal measure.”

CNETAsia reviews the Sony Ericsson W580i and writes;
“The good: Slick and slim design; funky features including Walkman music player and pedometer; solid build. The bad: Buttons can be difficult to press; not 3G; no camera flash. The bottom line: Sony Ericsson’s W580i is a sexy, thin slider that you’ll want to carry in your pocket for its MP3 music player, radio or just to use the built-in pedometer.”

CNET.AU reviews the Sony Ericsson W580i and writes;
“The sound quality is good for a personal music player. Having the music player on loudspeaker distorts the sound a bit, but this isn’t a major concern as its not often you play portable music out loud. The FM radio tuner doesn’t have great reception and often while travelling we needed to turn the radio to mono mode and switch off the RDS in order to reduce the crackle.”

OSNews reviews the Sony Ericsson W580i and writes;
“In conclusion, we would say that the W580i is a worthy upgrade over the W810i and many other SE phones, especially if you live in USA and you try to find a phone that both has a QVGA screen and a quad-band GSM/EDGE ability. SE does not have many such phones, and so the W580i is one of the best solutions currently.”

GoodGearGuide reviews the Sony Ericsson W580i and writes;
“The W580i is another above average Walkman phone. Although the design isn’t our cup of tea, the built-in pedometer is a nice touch, and should ensure this is another popular handset in the range.”

my w580i sometimes goes in standby
I want to put ringtone on the my phone form my itunes can it be done? And if so how?
Thank you,
Charmion
Yes, just put it on when your phone is connected.
You can probably just click and drag it to your phone’s files.
Or if your computer has bluetooth, you can send it like that.
You need to download the track from itunes remember where you saved it in. Download pc suite. On your phone there should be 3 things click on phone mode. Go back to your pc and click on file transfer. Right click on the file you want to download and click “send to” then click on my w580i
DONE!!!
1 thing not mentioned is the ability to go to the previous track by holding down the volume keys also that there is only 1 speaker and its under the d-pad
I have just bought this phone only two days ago, and so far I am extremely pleased with not just the quality of the phone but also the performance and features of the phone. I am happy with the price label which was £116.99, I am very trustworthy with sony ericsson phones as all of my previous phones have been a sony ericsson. I would also just like to say thank you to sony ericsson for there effort in making the phones that they produce and that there are amazing phones at that. Thanks
