Samsung offers 2GB/4GB MP3 Player of YP-K3, which is a bit similar looking like an Ipod Nano. The Samsung YP-K3 features 1.8” Full Color LCD, up to 25 hours playback time, 50 g of weight, FM Tuner, Photo Viewer and MP3, WMA support. It is available in black for around £89 for 2GB and £119 for 4GB capacity.

ITReviews reviews the Samsung YP-K3 and writes;
“This isn’t the most versatile, the smallest or the least expensive music player in its class. Its sleek black fascia gathers fingerprints. And some people might not like the touch controls. But it does have a certain panache and its sound quality is pretty good.”
CNET reviews the Samsung YP-K3 (rating: 7.3/10) and writes;
“The good: The Samsung YP-K3 is very attractive and simple to use, and it’s priced competitively. It also has intuitive menus, a speedy interface, and above-average sound quality. The bad: You can’t use the K3 with a Mac or for simple data storage. Touch-sensitive controls can be challenging to use. It has no on-device playlisting features and limited file-format support. Also, it has no video or recording features. The bottom line: The Samsung YP-K3 may not be a Nano-killer, but it’s definitely a solid choice for those who want a simple, sexy player that’s not too hard on the wallet.”
Unbeatable.co.uk has a preview of the Samsung YP-K3;
“The K3 can store up to 4000 MP3 tracks and tunes into FM radio without a care in the world. There’s a built-in jpeg viewer so download your images and check them out on the bright clear full colour 1.8” screen. The battery life is impressive with a playback time of 25 hours so your days out will certainly be carefree and you will have all of your favourite tunes to hand. In order to turn the Samsung K3 into a ghetto-blaster like its sibling, you are able to purchase a speaker dock which will set you back around £20, nothing really for the ability to share your tunes with those around you. “
CNET has a preview of the Samsung YP-K3;
“The K3’s sound quality is very good, but it has just a hair less detail and definition in the bass than the iPod Nano. Equalizer options are slim, but the bass boost is powerful. The included earbuds are better than most freebies, but if you’re looking to upgrade, the K3 can work with headphones that cost as much as the player itself. The nonremovable battery is rated for a respectable 25 hours of audio playback time…The K3 may not be a Nano killer, but it does have enough visual appeal to be a conversation piece. Samsung has done a good job at making a glamorous yet affordable and uncomplicated player, though the company needs to bring back the ability to use the player as a USB drive for Mac users and data storage. “
CNET Asia has a preview of the Samsung YP-K3;
“The YP-K5, on the other hand, may turn out to be a staple design for Samsung MP3 players. The cool blue lighted touch sensor controls on a jet black body is a strong counterpoint to the uber white iPod and its Click Wheel. Pundits, however, disdain it for being too thick. Even the inclusion of built-in speakers failed to ward off the criticisms…What’s clear to see is that Samsung is seriously considering using beauty to tame the iPod beast. The YP-K3 will closely match the iPod nano on specs and looks while offering FM radio as additional bait.”
Mobile-Review has a preview of the Samsung YP-K3;
“This player does well with playing back files recorded in most widely spread formats, allows for viewing photos and reading text and can seamlessly pick up FM radio signal. A bundled microphone is missing here, so that a Sound Recorder is not on the K3’s spec sheet…No wonder that the sound quality for this player is not a letdown – on the contrary, it is pretty much on the top level, thankfully, the K5 put up some good performance on this front. With good ear-plugs the K3 sounds penetrating and powerfully, carefully outputting even the lowest frequencies. The amplifier here has pretty high output power, making up 20 mW per channel and boosts nearly each and every in-ear headphones and most of clip-on headphones.”
PocketLint first take reviews the Samsung YP-K3;
“Sound, in our brief test was very good even on the show floor and bearing how noisy it was we wouldn’t envisage any problems with sounds volumes in other environments like the train or on the street in the city. The K3 and K5 players support a variety of music subscription services including popular services such as Napster, Rhapsody and Yahoo. In addition, the K3 supports MP3, WMA, DRM10.”
