Samsung SGH-G800 Reviews

Mobileburn reviews the Samsung SGH-G800 and writes;

“The Samsung G800 has particularly clear sounding audio, which is great, but device seems to be lacking a bit when it comes to reception, at least on its 1900MHz GSM band. The G800 supports the 900/1800/1900MHz GSM/EDGE bands and also works on UMTS and HSDPA compatible 3G networks on the 2100MHz band…Pros: Solid build, Xenon flash, crisp call audio, good music player. Cons: Blurry photos, fairly bulky, no 850MHz GSM support.”

IT Reviews reviews the Samsung SGH-G800 and writes;

“The camera has a nicely protective sliding lens cover which you remove to get the camera software started. This, and the need to fit the zoom mechanism inside the phone, means it is necessarily fat and that might reduce its appeal somewhat. The overall 129g of weight might have a similar negative effect, though actually when you are holding the phone sideways-on to take photos its bulk helps it feel more stable than many handsets do.”

CNET reviews the Samsung SGH-G800 and writes;

The good: The Samsung SGH-G800 has a high-quality 5-megapixel camera, a wealth of features, and decent call quality. The bad: The Samsung SGH-G800 has a disappointing Web browsing experience, and its flash was rather dim.”

TrustedReviews reviews the Samsung SGH-G800 and writes;

“Image files are fairly large for a mobile phone averaging about 2MB each when shot at 5-megapixels, but they are still quite compressed in comparison to what you’d expect from a dedicated digital camera, and that means there’s some image degradation…Possibly just as impressive as the camera is battery life. Of course this mobile plays tunes, and from a full battery charge with music played from a microSD card I got eleven and a half hours of the stuff. That’s good in its own right, but after the phone stopped playing music it remained alive for ages, giving a total of 15 hours 55 minutes of usable life. ”

Pocket-Lint reviews the Samsung SGH-G800 and writes;

“When it comes to the camera software users can share images or video via ShoZu…Basically what this means is that you can access flickr, YouTube, Facebook, blip.tv and a host of others including CNN and the BBC all from your mobile phone without even going near a computer, and thanks to the G800’s HSDPA 3.6Mbps connection speeds you can upload content as if you were on broadband at home. ”

CNET Asia reviews the Samsung SGH-G800 and writes;

“Picture quality varied depending on the light levels. In good light, pictures were crisp and in low light, the Xenon flash only worked well at close range, making things appear blue and blurry if they were too far away. The 3x optical zoom seemed to work better outdoors in daylight rather than in our office, which isn’t very well lit but can’t be described as dark. ”

RegHardware reviews the Samsung SGH-G800 and writes;

“The design combines the looks of a sharp mobile and a digital camera. It has a large 2.4in, 320 x 240, 262,144-colour display up front with a black and chrome surrounding, while the back sports a smart brushed metal-style finish on plastic…Making calls, the G800 put in a commendably fine, consistent performance, with clear, top-class sound quality at both ends throughout calls.”

Stuff TV reviews the Samsung SGH-G800 and writes;

Pros: Classy design. Solid metallic construction. Optical zoom. HSDPA. Cons: Chunky. Can struggle in low light. Weak flash. Lacks Wi-Fi, 3.5mm jack . ”

BoyGeniusReport has a hands on Samsung SGH-G800 and writes;

This slider handset is Samsung’s entry in the “5 megapixel camera phone war”. It’s quite thick, but feels good in-hand. As imaging is its main focus, it sports a Xenon flash, face detection, and an onboard image stabilizer. Image quality is fantastic, and the camera app felt a lot faster than most other camera phones we’ve played with.”

LetsgoMobile reviews the Samsung SGH-G800 and writes;

Music as well as videos can be played on the Samsung G800. The included earplugs produce an excellent sound of high quality…The overall picture quality is fine, surely when the light circumstances are ideal. Face detection does what it is supposed to do but works somewhat slow in practice to be really effective.”
