Citywire have reviewed the Samsung SGH-D900 where they rated it 3.5/5 and write;
“The classy design and slide motion in such a lightweight wafer thin package make this phone special. Despite being so thin it still squeezes in a good quality digital camera with flash and room for extendable memory up to 1GB on a MicroSD card…The functionality of this phone is good, but navigating around is somewhat of a chore. I have never read an instruction manual with a new phone, but I had to for this one.”

ShinyShiny have reviewed the Samsung SGH-D900 where they write;
“The camera is also the best found on a slider phone at 3 megapixels, which takes stills and video footage. There’s 60MB of internal memory to store your photos, as well as a MicroSD slot for expanding that. The screen is 2.1″ which is noticeably larger than previous Samsung screens such as the one found on the E900. It also supports 262,000 colours, so is bright enough to take advantage of all the fancy pants graphics it comes with.”

Mobilechoice have reviewed the Samsung SGH-D900 where they rated 88% write;
“The device also works very smoothly in camcorder mode. Simply press ‘1’ on the keypad while in camera mode and you’re free to begin recording by pressing the ‘OK/select’ key on the joypad, using the keypad to add or remove effects…Sound quality is pretty clear, and there are a few novelty gimmicks including an equaliser offering different music beats (jazz, rock, classic), plus a 3D sound option, which is an effect similar to surround sound on your stereo speakers. “

Infosync have reviewed the Samsung SGH-D900 where they rated 68% write;
“Calls on the Black Carbon sounded very good; our buddies heard us loud and clear. However, we encountered a slight hum on calls, which careful searching through the phone’s menus chalked up to a “Voice Clarity” setting. Turning the feature off eliminated the problem…What’s positive:Ultra-thin design; 3-megapixel camera; stereo Bluetooth headphone support. What’s negative:Poor reception; no IM support; camera requires a steady hand while focusing; sup-par management software for the PC.”

Digit-Life have reviewed the Samsung SGH-D900 where they write;
“Samsung SGH-D900 is a high-quality interesting model from the technical point of view, but it has some serious drawbacks. Here are advantages of all ultraslim Samsung models: excellent display, convenient controls, a full set of consumer (that is “noticeable” to common people) functions, support for Bluetooth A2DP. There is also a useful innovation - the offline mode to use the player and camera in a plane. The case is made of high-quality plastic with good finishing. The major drawback of this model is the camera of mediocre quality. With the increased resolution and nearly professional options, its photo quality is not stable.”

CNET Australia have reviewed the Samsung SGH-D900 where they rate the phone 8.0/10 and write;
“The D900’s 3-megapixel camera also makes it capable of recording video that’s compliant with the H.263 and MPEG4 standards at a top resolution of 352×288 pixels and at 30 frames per second. In our tests we were unable to unseat Mr Spielberg from his roost atop Hollywood — but were pleasantly surprised with our results given the generally shoddy quality of most mobile camera video… The good: Sleek design, Large dialling pad, 3-megapixel camera. The bad: Directional pad is slightly flaky,Power socket feels loose”

PocketLint have reviewed the Samsung SGH-D900 where they rate the phone 8/10 and write;
“The D900 builds on the D600 perfectly offering a host of upgrades and new features, but in keeping with the original style. Slight grumbles include a bottom rim to the phone, which we found impeded our comfortably pressing the bottom row of keys on the slider, but then is isn’t a deal breaker. If you are after a 2G phone that is thin but still offers good picture taking then the D900 will suit your needs, however for a slightly bulkier design you could opt for the Sony Ericsson K800i which in terms of offering is still light years ahead. Good, but not the best out there. “

OSNews have reviewed the Samsung SGH-D900 and write;
“Of course, the strongest point of this product is its camera. 3.2MP and boy what a great quality it’s got! Together with some of the Nokia N-series and the SonyEricsson K800i, this is one of the strongest phones in the market right now in terms of camera quality. It has support for autofocus, exposure metering, scene programming, manual ISO selection, effects, has a pretty powerful flash (with automation support), funny frames for portraits and it has the ability to shoot in a multishot mode. You can shoot for resolutions from 240×180 all the way to 2048×1536. The autofocus feature does not lock the same way digicams do (that await the user to re-press the snap button), but it focuses automatically, it waits 1 second and then it snaps the picture. The user must not move the phone for at least 3 seconds from the moment the snap button was pressed; otherwise the picture might end up blurry. “

MobileBurn have reviewed the Samsung SGH-D900 where they recommend the phone and write;
“The D900 has performed fairly well in most of our tests. The design, the camera, the multimedia capabilities are all well above average… The D900 will surely attract its crowd. If you don’t need 3G or smartphone functions but still want a good camera in the thinnest possible package, the D900 might just be perfect for you.”

TrustedReviews have reviewed the Samsung SGH-D900 where they rate the phone 8/10 and write;
“An undeniably slim and sexy phone that’s let down by a few design and usability issues. It’s a handy 40g lighter than the Sony/Ericsson K800i though and consequently sits unobtrusively in your shirt pocket. Although it’s worth remembering that the K800i works on 3G networks too. Would I recommend the D900 to current D600 users? Most definitely, but just don’t expect it to feel like a giant leap forward like the D600 did over the D500 before it.”

Techdigest have reviewed the Samsung SGH-D900 and write;
“On paper, the D900 looks great. But it’s once you take it from the box that you lose the excitement. Whether it’s the large screen which makes it look bigger than it is, or the green or red buttons that make it look old fashioned, designwise they seem to have let the fact that it’s thin excuse any effort on the rest of it.”
