Samsung R700 Reviews
Trusted Reviews reviews the Samsung R700 and writes;
“From a design aspect, for a 17in notebook it’s surprisingly slim and light. It weighs a manageable 3.18kg and has a wedge shaped design, measuring 39.8mm at its thickest and 29.7mm at its thinnest point and though this variation may seem something of a cheat, it does make the R700 look and feel quite slim for its size…Its decent battery performance is just the icing on the cake and an excellent keyboard and deceptively slim design add further to its value and appeal. ”

PWC reviews the Samsung R700 and writes;
“The computer comes with a good-quality keyboard, on which the keys recess well when pressed, making it pleasant to use even after hours of typing. This is something that good-looking notebooks tend to get wrong, so it’s especially good to see here. There are no customisable buttons (for media playback and so on), but that’s no great loss…The Samsung R700 is a quality desktop replacement notebook housed in an equally impressive chassis. It’s certainly capable of impressive general purpose performance, but those after a portable gaming machine need to look elsewhere. ”

CNET UK reviews the Samsung R700 and writes;
“Arrangement of the ports on the R700 is interesting. There are two USB ports at the rear, which are ideal for connecting semi-permanent peripherals like a printer without cable clutter, and another two ports — one on the right and one of the left — that are perfect for hooking up a USB memory key or anything else you may require. ”

VNunet reviews the Samsung R700 and writes;
“Usefully, the multi-format DVD writer is able to burn Lightscribe labels into the top of special discs. The 250GB hard disk provides an impressively large amount of storage space – it’s as much as we’d expect to see on some lower-end desktop PCs, which is huge for a notebook. ”

PC Advisor reviews the Samsung R700-A003UK and writes;
“The Samsung R700-A003UK’s screen is a vast 17in model – something of an exception to the flood of 15.4in TFTs that proliferate at this price point – and if the colour isn’t quite as lip-smackingly gorgeous as on some laptops, the Samsung R700-A003UK’s screen is still very solid and clean. The GeForce chips are making considerable waves in the laptop divisions at the moment, and the Samsung R700-A003UK’s 8400M GS is a very capable graphics controller that hit more than 14 frames per second (fps) in our intensive FEAR tests. ”
