+ REVIEWS (last updated: 02/03/07)

Unbeatable has a review of the Samsung PS50Q7HD;
“But just a quick recap to avoid sending you around the houses, this is a very impressive TV. It’s not 1080p, which is disappointing, and the connectivity is rather inadequate, but once you see what this screen can deliver in terms of second to none picture performance, you won’t care, we promise. “

TrustedReviews has a review of the Samsung PS50Q7HD rated it 8/10 and writes;
“Remarkably the digital tuner is far from the only eye-catching feature of this cut-price plasma. For starters it’s also HD Ready thanks to: the inclusion of component video jacks alongside the HDMI; a sufficiently high native resolution of 1,366 x 768; and full compatibility with the necessary 720p and 1080i HD formats…The picture’s sharpness is particularly apparent with Sky HD cricket and football coverage, as well as unusually crisp Xbox 360 games like Prey and Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle Earth II. And it’s also with pristine, fast-moving sources like this that you most notice the impact of Samsung’s Smooth Motion Driver, as objects really do glide across the screen more ‘solidly’, for want of a better word.”

HDTV UK has a review of the Samsung PS50Q7HD and writes;
“Best of all, the performance doesn’t feel at like a budget set either; black levels are impressively deep whilst still offering a subtle greyscale and skin tones look beautifully natural, although there is occasional hint of glow around them – but it is still a cut above what Samsung’s own LCDs can manage. The DNIe system shows its merits here as we were able to make out a healthy range of colours and definitely more than we would have expected for the price.”

GoodGearGuide has a review of the Samsung PS50Q7HD and writes;
“We ran 720p HD video from the Xbox 360 hard drive which looked flawless with no noise or any problems to speak of. We also connected the Panasonic DMP-BD10 Blu-Ray player at 1080i. We used the film Into the Blue for testing and were blown away by the image quality. The clarity was nothing short of stunning with every minute detail displayed without pixilation or blemishes. If you are looking for a television to display High Definition content, the PS50Q7HD will do the job brilliantly.”

TestFreaks has a review of the Samsung PS50Q7HD and writes;
“One of the common areas of improvement for relatively inexpensive plasma TVs is sharpness. This however is not the case with this Samsung machine - it is totally capable of doing justice to the extra pixels of detail and texture that are found in high definition sources, and also makes standard definition sources look reasonably crisp. Movements are also stable and clear. It removes lots of unwanted side effects making it a fair deal for such a cheap TV.”
