“The good: The Samsung Mythic is a slim and lightweight phone, and you can customize its home screens and menu pages. Its multimedia feature set includes AT&T Mobile TV, and it has good performance.The bad: The Samsung Mythic’s streaming video needs improvement, and its Web browser has only two zoom settings.”

mobibu reviews the Samsung Mythic a897 and writes;
“The touch screen user interface might need a little getting used to for people habituated to using actual keyboards. The touch screen keyboard is the only option for typing on the Mythic as it does not have a real keyboard. But once you get used to it, you start to find it much more convenient to use than the normal keyboards. The Samsung Touch Wiz user interface, also seen on some other Samsung phones gives a quick access to your favorite websites such as YouTube and Facebook. If it were not for the Samsung Touch Wiz user interface, the phone could have tuned out to be a drab, but the user interface makes it a really competent phone. ”

Nice screen, no data plan required, no MS Outlook syncing, by GeekDaddy

“…The screen is very nice: higher resolution than other non-smartphones (360 x 640). Internet browser is fairly responsive, but does not display the regular pages as intended as the screen is still not wide enough. The WAP pages look fine…”

this phone is the worst ever just crap…dont get it
AGREED!!! Explain to me why this stupid phone even has the feature to “send videos VIA message” Everytime I try to send one, no matter how short the video is, it tells me it’s too big to send. I took a 2 second video just to test it, it was STILL too big. Then I click “video share” says uncompatible with its format… WTF?! So they just put this useless crap on the phone to sell it, but it doesn’t actually work!? Then good luck trying to answer a call in call waiting. You have to do 3 things before you can answer that call, by then, the call has already gone into voicemail. There is no reason to have to slide this bar then confirm again that you want to accept. I’m 99% of the time on my bluetooth, which usually means I cannot easily get to my phone. Every other phone I’ve had that actually worked properly, all you had to do was hit the button on the blue tooth, I guess that made too much sense to samsung to do that, so instead they do this shit.
BIGGEST PIECE OF CRAP EVER!! The only thing that’s good about it…. It’s skinny. That’s about it!!
Save yourself the time and aggrivation! Don’t waste your money on this joke of a phone!
does it recieve picture messages?
