PC World reviews the Samsung i8000 Omnia and writes;
“Bottom Line: With its eye-catching design and variety of multimedia features, the Omnia II is a solid Windows phone, but sluggish performance keeps it from being perfect. ”

Brighthand reviews the Samsung i8000 Omnia and writes;
“This device has a nice heft to it — it’s not so heavy you don’t want to carry it with you, but it’s not so light it feels like an insubstantial toy. At 4.75 inches tall, 2.4 inches wide, and 0.5 inches thick it’s not something you’ll forget that you have in your pocket, but it does fit.”

Geek reviews the Samsung i8000 Omnia and writes;
“The Omnia II has a unique keyboard that uses Swype technology, and it’s the first phone in the United States to offer it. While you can tap-type on both of the fairly good landscape and horizontal keyboards, I actually found myself typing faster using Swype.. ”

MobileChoiceUK reviews the Samsung i8000 Omnia and writes;
“Samsung’s TouchWiz interface is easy to navigate and the cube menu is a fun alternative to moving around the menus. The resistive touch-screen does make it slightly harder to always hit the Windows Mobile app you’re aiming for without a stylus. ”

Infosyncworld reviews the Samsung i8000 Omnia and writes;
“Pros: Solid features, including DiVX playback, 5-megapixel camera and more. Colorful AMOLED screen. Cons: Unresponsive touchscreen coupled with a poorly designed interface make using the phone a hassle. Poor performance, even in High power CPU mode. ”

Hardwarezone reviews the Samsung i8000 Omnia and writes;
“The Samsung Omnia II, powered by Samsung’s own 800MHz processor and an update to its TouchWiz interface, was one of the rare few Windows Mobile devices that managed to do what smartphones were designed for – powerful communication features with no compromise to its speed.”

Mobileburn reviews the Samsung i8000 Omnia and writes;
“When it comes to multimedia tasks, the Samsung Omnia II’s strength is photography. I really love the camera in this phone, since it focuses quickly and accurately, and it captures truly beautiful images. The flash is mostly usable in dark environments, and causes the white balance to turn a bit blue’ish, but in regular lighting the camera is virtually unstoppable. ”

CNET reviews the Samsung i8000 Omnia and writes;
“The good: The Samsung Omnia II boasts a spacious and sharp AMOLED touch screen. Samsung’s TouchWiz 2.0 user interface gives the Omnia II great customization options and is easy to use. The Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphone also has advanced multimedia features, Wi-Fi, 3G support, Bluetooth, and GPS. The bad: Omnia II is a bit bulky; Swype keyboard takes some acclimation; can occasionally be sluggish. ”

GSM Arena reviews the Samsung i8000 Omnia and writes;
“It’s no secret that the Samsung Omnia II has the HTC Touch Diamond2 in its sights. The Omnia II has several advantages, not the least of which is the amazing 3.7″ AMOLED WVGA display. For the acronym-allergic – WVGA means 480 x 800 pixels resolution, which several years ago might have been considered acceptable for a computer monitor. That resolution is not so uncommon today, the exciting part here is “AMOLED” – active matrix organic LED. Or in plain English – brilliant picture quality. ”
PocketNow reviews the Samsung i8000 Omnia and writes;
“The camera app is actually quite sophisticated for a mobile device. It has face detection, anti-shake, panorama mode, and even geo-tagging (which simply turns on the GPS to assign coordinates to a picture you’ve just taken)…If you’re trying to take a close up, you must first change the mode to Macro, or else you’ll get an out-of-focus picture. But here we’re using Macro mode, and the picture is crisp. ”

Almost Perfect by T.R.Thiergartner

“..The media capabilities are the best of any Windows Mobile Device I have ever had, including (axim x50v, tilt, ipaq 210 and diamond 2). The device plays almost all my movies out of the box with no transcoding necessary. You have to watch your bitrates though. I have tversity setup at home and use the connected home program on the device to stream my media files over the air. Very cool feature…”

Been playing with (and blogging about) the i8000 for the past few weeks and I HIGHLY recommend this phone to anyone who is in the market for a new phone who needs either a good camera, something that runs WinMo (for buisness reasons), something that has excellent screen quality for use as a portible media device with DivX support out of the box or pretty much anyone who wants a touchscreen Smartphone and isn’t deadset on having multi-touch
just picked up a couple unlocked cell phones and i love them. one omnia one hd2. love my omnia. big screen, fast processor. recorder and camera are great to watch my kids and get memories. games keep us busy and facebook is fun. very happy with our unlocked world phones. battery life is long and the gps and email help me keep in touch with my clients. much better than our old unlocked iphones. battery life is very long and the web browser keeps me in touch with the world on my long trips. not to mention the battery life is long enough to last the long bus trips so that’s nice. it’s a little glitchy sometimes but that’s ok. got our last couple unlocked mobile phones at gsmallover.com 2 thumbs up
