BlackBerry Pearl 8130 Reviews
PC World reviews the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 and writes;
“I loved the fast-moving ball for scrolling through Web pages, which loaded really quickly on Verizon’s EvDO network. It makes up for the fact that you’re viewing the Web pages on a relatively small 2.25-inch, 240-by-260-pixel screen, which is otherwise bright, sharp, colorful, and easy to read. Video clips look great.”

PCmag reviews the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 and writes;
“The 8130’s built-in Web browser is a big improvement over past models. It now has a “mouse” cursor, a zoom mode, and improved fonts, making it much easier than before to navigate mobile Web pages. Both models work as EV-DO modems for your laptop, and I saw impressive average speeds of 700 to 1,000 kilobits per second during testing. ”

Infosync reviews the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 and writes;
“We’ve been critical of the BlackBerry interface for some time, but on this Pearl we’re pleased to report that the stodgy, heavily-textual interface has seen a graphical face lift. Not an overhaul, but a few nice colors and boxes have been placed around forms, and the system font has been smoothed out and cleaned up a bit. ”

WirelessInfo reviews the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 and writes;
“The Pearl lasted for 4 hours and 41 minutes under the rigors of a never-ending conversation. This is slightly above average, but under par for a BlackBerry or a smart phone in general. Though this isn’t a horrible time by any means, we expected a bit more from the Pearl…Overall, our one problem with this version of the Pearl is its redundancy. There really isn’t much to separate the Pearl 8130 from the original 8100. The browser is better, the camera is bumped up to 2-Megapixels, and it can capture video. ”

WashingtonPost reviews the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 and writes;
“One upgrade found on the Pearl 8130 is an improved web browser. Although still not as good as Safari on the iPhone or Web on Series 60 devices Like the N95 it is a big step up from the older extremely basic BlackBerry web browser. The new browser uses a pointer on screen, which makes getting around a bit easier. ”

Mlive reviews the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 and writes;
” was impressed with call quality, and I never had a dropped call. The phone worked inside buildings in which I can’t receive a signal with my AT&T phones. The included earbuds also have a mic and work well for making phone calls. The Pearl also worked well with my Bluetooth wireless headset. ”

CNET reviews the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 and writes;
“The good: The RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8130 keeps the same sleek design of its predecessor but adds built-in GPS, EV-DO support, and video-recording capabilities. The smartphone’s Web browser is also improved, and it has a 2-megapixel camera. The device’s messaging functions remain strong. The bad: The SureType keyboard takes some acclimation, and call quality could be slightly better. ”

Infosync reviews the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 and writes;
” The calendar app on the BlackBerry is top notch, second only, perhaps, to Microsoft’s own mobile Outlook calendar when paired with the desktop app. We miss being able to invite attendees to events, but it was the only major feature we were missing. ”
