BlackBerry Pearl 8120 Reviews
Infosync reviews the BlackBerry Pearl 8120 and writes;
“The RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8120 on T-Mobile is the least expensive of the new Pearl models, though the Verizon Wireless and Sprint. models feature faster EV-DO networking for $50 more…Pros: UMA calling is a cheap and convenient. Slightly improved hardware design.Cons: Interface polished, but not much improved. Lacks impressive media playing and Web browsing options.”

PCmag reviews the BlackBerry Pearl 8120 and writes;
“Like other recent BlackBerrys, the 8120 is a surprisingly good media player–even outpacing the iPhone on some measures. For instance, it supports stereo Bluetooth as well as standard wired music headphones, and it plays MP3, AAC, and even WMA music files…The 2-megapixel camera is best for outdoor shots. Like the one on the AT&T 8120, it had a serious problem with blur in low light but handled outdoor conditions well. ”

PC World reviews the BlackBerry Pearl 8120 and writes;
“the 8120’s other multimedia features were outstanding, especially for a handset this small. My favorite feature wasn’t even on the handset: The bundled Media Manager application went well beyond the usual PC-to-handset copying capabilities of these types of programs…The quality of the audio was first-rate, both through the device’s own stereo speakers and the bundled earbud headset. And while I wouldn’t want to watch a full-length film on such a small screen, the converted video clip looked surprisingly good.”

CNET reviews the BlackBerry Pearl 8120 and writes;
“The good: The RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8120 for AT&T brings Wi-Fi to the slim smartphone, along with an improved Web browser and a 2-megapixel camera with video recording capabilities. The handset also has integrated Bluetooth, strong e-mail capabilities, and solid multimedia features. The bad: The BlackBerry Pearl 8120 lacks 3G support and GPS. The SureType keyboard still requires a learning curve, and there was a slight background hiss during phone calls.”

PC Advisor reviews the BlackBerry Pearl 8120 and writes;
“This BlackBerry Pearl 8120 does multimedia far better too: the 2Mp camera (with 5x zoom selectable via the central rollerball navigator and automatic flash) produced some surprisingly good snaps, even in low light. The memory is now expandable too, via microSD card. Slot one in and you’ll be able to capture video to it (you still only get 64MB flash memory onboard).”

WashingtonPost reviews the BlackBerry Pearl 8120 and writes;
” One upgrade found on the Pearl 8130 is an improved web browser. Although still not as good as Safari on the iPhone or Web on Series 60 devices Like the N95 it is a big step up from the older extremely basic BlackBerry web browser. The new browser uses a pointer on screen, which makes getting around a bit easier.”

IT Reviews reviews the BlackBerry Pearl 8120 and writes;
” It certainly looks stylish and attractive with its dark blue and silver colour scheme, and it is small and neat at 107mm tall, 50mm wide, 14mm thick and 91g in weight…The Pearl 8120 is a definite advance on the original Pearl, and shows that RIM is edging ever closer to consumers with a hankering for mobile e-mail.”
