GameSpot has a review of the Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters (PSP) rated it 8.2/10 and writes;
“Getting through Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters will probably take the average player around seven or eight hours, but with more weapons to see, hidden titanium bolts to find, and side quests, like hoverboard races and space shooting, to master, there’s more there for the completist to play with. On top of that, the game has a four-player multiplayer mode that can be played locally or over the Internet.”

IGN has a review of the Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters (PSP) rated it 9/10 and writes;
“A primary reason that Size Matters is so good is because it matches its console inspiration almost exactly. Though it wasn’t developed by Insomniac directly, you probably couldn’t guess it unless somebody told you. In short, High Impact has done a great job of emulating the famous Ratchet and Clank engine while successfully modifying it for handheld play…Even more impressive is the fact that Ratchet and Clank’s story and presentation are almost as strong as their gameplay. Though the plot is a little on the predictable side…the pacing is still good, the voice acting is solid, and the humor is quaint and upbeat.”

PSPfanboy has a review of the Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters (PSP) and writes;
“The game’s controls are fantastic, even if they do have a bit of a learning curve to them. For the most part, the game’s controls are quite intuitive. Jumping feels spot-on, as does using your melee attacks. Being able to quickly switch weapons via the Triangle button is also a much appreciated feature. There are two issues that players will have to deal with, however. While movement is handled by the analog stick, strafing is done using the D-Pad. Players will discover that victory will come from efficient use of both the analog nub and D-Pad, and careful switching between the two.”

Yahoo has a review of the Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters (PSP) rated it 5/5 and writes;
“The graphics are superb, with colors that really pop on the PSP’s screen, detailed geometry that isn’t cluttered, and an immaculate frame rate, even when the world is crowded with monsters, weapons effects, and flying bolts…Pros: Near-perfect action platformer for PSP; A return to form for Ratchet & Clank; Has one of the best levels in the series. Cons: Short single-player game; Some frustrating boss battles and scripted sequences.”

Modojo has a review of the Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters (PSP) rated it 5/5 and writes;
“Most of the game is fairly straightforward action platforming, and you’ll spend the majority of your time jumping around and shooting baddies….The difficulty of the game is extremely well-balanced in a very clever and unconventional way: even when you die, all the strength and weapon upgrades remain with you, so the next time you tackle the same room, you’ll be stronger or have more potent firepower to see you through.”

Cheat Code has a review of the Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters (PSP) and writes;
“The graphics really shine on Size Matters. With it being a handheld title, you would expect less from the graphics. Here, on the other hand, Size Matters equals, if not surpasses, the graphic experience of its PS2 big brothers. The environments and characters are slick, clean, and very pleasing as the camera whips around the action. The camera system itself is refreshing.”

PSXextreme has a review of the Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters (PSP) rated it 9/10 and writes;
“The in-game detail on Ratchet is terrific - he’s sporting a plethora of polygons for a smooth look, and some splendid texture work to make for an impressive character model…One of the biggest attractions to R&C: Size Matters is Clank. Clank’s playable segments, not only has you playing as Clank in a regular stage, but also has you playing a variety of different kinds of mini-games. You’ll encounter a Battlebots-like playground where Clank will have to take control of a robot and defeat other bots around him.”

GameSpy has a review of the Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters (PSP) rated it 4.5/5 and writes;
“Overall, I found the single-player campaign famously entertaining, and I’d be hard pressed to find another game that I’d prefer playing on my PSP at this point. The story has got a couple of surprising twists to keep it interesting, but the real meat of Size Matters lies in the exploration and obsessive completionist collecting of bolts, guns and armor…Pros: Classic R&C feel; plenty of powered-up trinkets; the name “Iron Lombax” all by itself. Cons: Camera becomes a hassle in multiplayer; limited map selection; mildly cheesy dialog.”

GameDaily has a review of the Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters (PSP) and writes;
“Along the way, numerous distractions tempt players. Bits of different armor types scattered throughout the levels increase Ratchet’s defense, with the collection of an entire type of armor granting special abilities, like setting foes ablaze. Titanium Bolts hidden in nooks and crannies encourage exploration, rewarding players with a few different looks for Ratchet. Various mini-game challenges, including a destruction derby and some space combat bits, offer plenty of enjoyment.”

GameInformer has a review of the Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters (PSP) and writes;
“The best parts of Size Matters stem solely from High Impact’s creative minds. This is most prominent in the story, which delves deeply into Captain Qwark’s personal life. High Impact also leaves its mark on the level designs, which are some of the best the series has to offer. In one stage, Ratchet shrinks to microscopic proportions to infiltrate Clank’s body. In another level, which is just as outlandish as the highly acclaimed Milkman stage in Psychonauts, Ratchet traverses an ever-changing dream world that dazzles the eye with mind-bending imagery and hypnotic effects.”
