+ REVIEWS:
Gadgetnutz reviews the Palm Treo 700wx, they write:
“The 700p ships with a 1.3 megapixel camera – a huge improvement over the old VGA camera. Pictures were sharp and clear. From the camera screen you can easily navigate to your library, or activate the Video recorder. There is a 1x and 2x zoom feature on the camera but no flash is included. The zoom can be operated via the D-pad. When you press the right soft key you have lots of options available; mode, brightness, resolution, zoom and then even additional options.”
MyTreo reviews the Palm Treo 700wx, they write:
“The Treo 700wx offers a robust set of phone features and exceptional call quality. Signal Strength was consistently strong on Sprint’s EVDO network. The popular PhotoDial and voicemail controls features of the 700w are carried over to the 700wx. While many love the PhotoDial feature of the Treo 700wx, I found it to be a bit gimmicky instead of useful. Honestly, how often will you take a picture of a contact? In my opinion, the Photodial feature consumes valuable real-estate on the Today screen. I would have much preferred a shortcut pane to launch applications with one click or a bookmarks pane opposed to PhotoDial.”
MobileTechreview reviews the Palm Treo 700wx, they rated the phone 4.5/5 and write:
“Pro: Great design and QWERTY keyboard make the Treo a breeze to use on the go. Palm’s software enhancements are a strong value-added that further increase ease of use. Large and bright display is easy to read, plenty of memory to run several programs at once. Ample storage and SD expansion if you need more. 3G means fast data and web pages load quickly. Con: Camera is the pits, 240 x 240 resolution display means you see less on screen compared to most other Windows Mobile PPC phones and the Palm OS Treo 700p. Occasional compatibility issues with 3rd party apps that haven’t been updated to support the square screen. No built-in WiFi. No threaded SMS application.”
Laptopmag reviews the Palm Treo 700wx, they rated the phone 3.5/5 and write:
“A big draw of the 700wx over the Palm OS-powered 700p—at least for enterprise customers—is the ability to sync corporate e-mail using Microsoft Exchange. Microsoft now includes its Messaging and Security Feature Pack (MSFP) support built into Windows Mobile 5.0. MSFP gives business users basic push e-mail functionality without the added cost of Good or RIM’s solutions. The 700wx’s RAM upgrade helps when you’re constantly getting new messages delivered, especially if you have security software running in the background.”
InfoSync reviews the Palm Treo 700wx, they write:
“More memory and speedy dial-up networking make the Treo 700wx an obvious choice over the older 700w, but the decision isn’t as clear-cut when it comes to other business phones. If you require full Windows compatibility, this is a strong device, and Palm has gone to some lengths to make Windows Mobile manageable with a single hand. Unfortunately, complicated menus stymie the effort. The phone is unfortunately tethered to the fortunes of Windows Mobile — what the system does well, like Outlook and Office, the phone does well. What makes Windows unpleasant also hampers the experience of using the Treo 700wx”
