At Tokyo CEATEC Show (3rd October 2006), Hitachi unveils that they will be releasing new blu-ray DVD camcorder in two years time. According to the interview with News.com, the new Hitachi Blue-Ray DVD Camcorder will feature 8cm DVDs and an accompanying burner. The use of Blu-ray means that it will enable users to have higher capacity than non blu-ray discs. Therefore, can offer more footage with less compressions. At the moment, blu-ray uses only 12cm discs, holding data between 25GB to 50 GB. We’re hoping that Hitachi will managed to create 8 cm DVD within two years time, which is not exist today.

Pioneer will be releasing five new models of its Car Entertainment Systems with built in 30 GB hard drive and 7″ wide TFT-LCD according to Ceatec Japan 2006. The five models include; AVIC-HRZ99, AVIC HRZ88, AVIC-HRV22, AVIC HRZ99G, AVIC-HRZ88G. The first two feature MD deck, and the last three models will have a terrestrial TV tuner. With seven-inch screen, all five models will give clear directions of GPS and navigation map. Toshiba announces the release of HD-A2 and HD-XA2 on 14th September, 2006. The new features of both HD-A2 and HD-XA2 include 1080 output capability. The HD-XA2 features 1.3.
