ThinkCamera compares the Nokia N73 to Fujifilm F20 (rating: 7/10) and writes;

“Here’s the bottom line – two of us from the office tried out the N73 under a variety of circumstances. Both of us agreed that if we were getting a new phone it would be the N73. The quality doesn’t stack up against a decent Fuji but it produces pictures that are perfectly good for web use or even 6X4 prints. With the right image and conditions, even a 10X8 is possible straight from camera. With very careful editing, who knows?”

PCMag reviews the Nokia N73 (rating: 4/5) and writes;

“Like most cameraphones, the N73 falls short in two critical areas: flash power and shutter lag. Cameraphone flashes are almost completely useless, and the N73’s is no exception. You can work around that. But the 0.7-second shutter lag may be too long for some people to capture precious, fleeting moments…. The N73’s camcorder mode is very good for a cameraphone, but definitely within the category’s limited range: It takes 352-by-288 videos at 15 frames per second. There’s also a front-facing second camera in case you love to take videos or VGA-quality photos of yourself.”

SmartPhoneToday have published a review of the Nokia N73 where they write;

“You can access the N73’s camera by sliding back the protective door that covers the lens, which automatically enables the camera software (every cell phone should have this feature). The N73’s camera (with integrated flash) produced very sharp and crisp shots with good color reproduction. There are a number of special camera modes to choose from, including red eye-reduction, close-up, and night modes. For more pedestrian shots (mainly self portraits) the N73 has a second VGA camera on the front of the phone.”

LordPercy have published a review of the Nokia N73 where they write;

“The N73 Music phone is a tri band data enabled mobile and as seen in the standard N73 it is a rugged little performer running the Symbian OS 9.1 S60 3rd edition. The screen is the same stunning 262k colour 240 x 320 pixel unit which is chosen for its clarity as part of the standard N73 camera phone model…Battery life is also excellent with the N73’s 1100 mAh battery managing a real world 4 day standby with a good 4 hour talk time even when using 3G and the loud and clear built in handsfree speakerphone. When using the Nokias media player we managed a full 10 hours playback before we’d run down the battery and started to get the recharge beep.”

PC Authority have published a review of the Nokia N73 where they rated the phone 5/6 and write;

“Although the camera can deliver some beautiful and vivid pictures in good light, the low light performance isn’t anywhere near as good as the Sony Ericsson K800i, which uses a xenon flash. The N71 sticks to traditional — and very bright — LED illumination, which delivers usable images in the dark from a meter or less away from your subject.”

TrustedReviews have published a review of the Nokia N73 where they rated the phone 8/10 and write;

“It is easy to get to the camera settings. When you are viewing a potential shot the mini joystick on the front of the casing can be used to scroll through a series of icons both before and after shooting. As you pass over them a small information bar reminds you what they are for. It is very user friendly, and access to other options, such as using the front facing camera instead, telling the camera whether to use internal memory or memory cards for storage, and configuring image quality, is available via softmenu buttons.”

Newswireless have published a review of the Nokia N73 where they rated the phone 75% and write;

“The screen takes up just less than half of the front of the handset and a very nice screen it is too. Bright and easy to read even in sunlight, the backlight apparently adjusts to reflect the ambient light and conserve battery life, not that we particularly noticed – which is as it should be. The resolution is 240 x 320 with 18-bit colour, but more importantly pictures look good and you can read it outside. On the screen is S60 third edition running on Symbian, providing the normal applications and idle screen functions one would expect of a smart phone these days.”

IT Reviews have published a review of the Nokia N73 where they write;

“An FM radio with Visual Radio support is present and, for the Web-minded, a browser and Nokia’s Lifeblog software are here, the latter enabling you to post a blog from the handset. Add in the usual contact and diary management and supplied PC synchronisation software and the N73 is a nicely rounded handset.”

Mobileburn have published a review of the Nokia N73 where they write;

have the ability to store phone numbers, multiple email, web, or street addresses, and even notes and birthdays. Like a good Windows Mobile device, the N73 can store pretty much any data point that is found in Microsoft’s Outlook application for desktop PCs. Numbers for video calls and Push-To-Talk can also be entered into a contact record. In terms of accessing those contacts, the search function matches multiple characters on both the first and last name of a contact, making the process fairly simple. “

3GUK have published a review of the Nokia N73 where they write;

“The N73 is a nicely designed handset from a general usability point of view, with the exception of those vertical shortcut buttons which are a bit of a pain. The camera is very good, though as ever better outdoors than in. All in all, this is quite a pleasant little handset. “

CNET have published a review of the Nokia N73 where they rate the camera 7/10 and write;

“The good: The Nokia N73 boasts a 3.2-megapixel camera with video recording capabilities, an integrated music player, a vibrant screen, Bluetooth, and a speakerphone. The phone also had extra-long talk time, battery life, and decent call quality. The bad: The Nokia N73’s keypad is a bit cramped. Also, it lacks Wi-Fi and runs slowly when switching between apps or performing multimedia functions. The bottom line: The Nokia N73 offers a high-quality camera phone plus some nice extras in a stylish package, but its sluggish performance keeps us from giving it higher praises.”

TechDigest have published a review of the Nokia N73 and write;

“It’s rare that a product that promises to make it easier for us to share our life/photos/whatever actually does. However, I’m completely converted with the N73. The integration with Flickr and LiveJournal mean that it really does make it simple to add things to your online accounts. If you don’t have a blog but intend to, this is the phone to get. And if you’ve got no interest in sharing your life with complete strangers? The camera alone might win you over. “

Mobile88 have published a review of the Nokia N73 where they rate the camera 4/5 and write;

“Pros: Great screen, clear even under sunlight, Feature packed. It has a lot of built in apps for the mobile warrior, Improvement in SMS typing where it remembers the most often used words and puts it at the top of the words suggestions list, Good cam, has quite a lot of manual settings for you to play with and it has AF, It’s one of the fastest S60 phones at the moment, Relatively good battery life. Cons: Stability is still an issue. The phone is definitely not stable enough, hope Nokia releases new bug fixes asap, Certain apps are still slow to load, like the Application Manager, Camera app is also buggy, it hung on me several times, Switching modes between video and image could be faster, Smsing is a bit tricky because of the small keypad, Joystick is a little too firm for my liking, Conclusion: The N73 is a great phone. It’s a vast improvement from it’s predecessor, the N70. It’s faster, looks good, has better speakers, takes better pics. What more can you ask for? “

StuffMagazine have published a review of the Nokia N73 and write;

“As you’d expect, the interface is beautifully simple. The keypad feels a little less positive than we’d like, and the joystick is a tad flimsy, but a four-year-old kid with no experience of digital technology could instigate a video call on it. We tested this scientifically by giving it to Stuff’s staff writer. Accessing multimedia is a breeze, too, thanks to the dedicated key on the right-hand side of the keypad.”

MobileTechReview have published a review of the Nokia N73 and write;

“the N73’s Carl Zeiss autofocus lens helps it pull clearly ahead with sharper, more colorful and detailed photos. Autofocus also makes depth of field shots possible, for example in portrait mode your subject is in focus while the background is pleasingly blurred (though we couldn’t get a pronounced depth of field shot with the N73). It even does better in low light situations with considerably less noise than the N80, though Nokia isn’t leading the pack in low light capabilities overall. At its best, you really can’t tell the difference between the N73 and a dedicated 3MP camera..”

InfoSyncWorld have published a review of the Nokia N73 where they rate the phone 97% and write;

“It doesn’t support backing up messages or show you which ones have been replied to, but the N73 is still a perfect choice for avid texters with its outstandingly comfortable keypad and a large screen which shows a whopping 170 characters at a time. Unlike many other phones, it also allows for archiving missives into folders and even stores a nearly unlimited number of messages – again handy for tap-happy users – plus there’s a decent e-mail client to boot..”
