Nokia 8800 Arte Reviews
CNET UK reviews the Nokia 8800 Arte and writes;
“The keypad emerges from the handset when you slide it upwards. Similar in keypad and screen to the original 8800, we’re not enamoured of its functionality, but it does add flair. We found the keypad easy to use as all the keys are raised, making them easier to find. ”

Trusted Reviews reviews the Nokia 8800 Arte and writes;
“Holding either phone in the hand is a satisfying experience. The 8800 has a thin candybar design measuring 109mm tall, 46mm wide and 15mm thick. Flick up the slide and the phone grows to about 133mm tall…For all of Nokia’s efforts to brand the Arte and Arte Sapphire as high class mobiles there simply isn’t enough here to justify the price. Distortion from the loudspeaker, a below par camera, no front camera for two-way video calls, and the S40 OS with its reasonable but not wonderful set of features are not top-notch specifications. ”

Mobile Choice reviews the Nokia 8800 Arte and writes;
“It’s better equipped than Nokia’s previous luxury phones, with a 3.2-megapixel camera and 3G data speeds onboard, together with 1GB of built in memory. However, it lets itself down a little by excluding an expandable memory slot and there’s no 3.5mm jack port for the music player. However, the phone does mute when you turn it over, which is cool…Pros: It’s a stunning-looking phone that’s made from the finest materials. Cons: It’s expensive, it’s heavy, the battery is poor and there’s no expandable memory slot. ”

GSM Arena reviews the Nokia 8800 Arte and writes;
“Just as we expected the signal reception and call quality are in line with the Nokia 8800 Arte high standing. Calls are loud and clear on both ends eliminating any possible obstacles to communication…A great new feature of Nokia 8800 Arte is the turn-to-mute functionality. It allows muting the phone during a call or hushing the alarm by simply flipping the device over. Here is a video that should give you an idea of exactly how it works. ”

3G reviews the Nokia 8800 Arte and writes;
“Click the joypad to access the 8800 Arte’s menu and you’ll be presented with those familiar Nokia menu icons which make its Series 40 phones such a breeze to use…The battery life is weak for a phone with such a hefty price tag. In fact, it’s weak by any standards ”

Pocket-Lint reviews the Nokia 8800 Arte and writes;
“The good: High grade build quality and elegant minimalist design, slide action is still the best in the business, decent feature line-up. The bad:No expansion plan for the internal 1GB flash memory, high asking price. Verdict:Undoubtedly Nokia’s finest premium handset to date that oozes style and quality with a feature cast that will satisfy the rich-boy gadget geeks ”
