CNET reviews the Nokia 82 and writes;
“We have to say picture quality was absolutely impressive. It may be the addition of the Xenon flash, but the N82 produced better photos than the Nokia N95; images were extremely sharp but we were mostly happy that the colors actually looked true to life. Video quality was also great…The bottom line: The Nokia N82 has some annoying design flaws and lacks 3G support, but our lasting impression of the N82 is of a powerful multimedia smartphone with an excellent imaging capabilities and solid performance. ”

PCmag reviews the Nokia 82 and writes;
“In addition, I was extremely impressed with the N82’s video-recording mode, which is the best I’ve ever seen on a phone, bar none. It takes smooth, clear 640-by-480-pixel videos, up to an hour long, at 28 frames per second. The videos come through in MPEG-4 format, which is playable in QuickTime on both Macs and PCs. ”

TrustedReviews reviews the Nokia 82 and writes;
“The main camera is one of the best I’ve seen on a mobile. The Carl Zeiss lens does a good job, the macro mode is handy, auto focus seemed to work well, and the xenon flash is powerful and really helps indoors. I like the lens cover both because of the protection it offers and because all you need to do is slide it away to start the camera software running. ”

Pocket-Lint reviews the Nokia 82 and writes;
“The good: 5-megapixel camera, GPS, 2GB card in the box, Xenon flash. The bad: Prickly keys, same as the Nokia N95 bar the flash. Verdict: If you want a Nokia with a 5 megapixel camera you would be better off, in our minds, going for the N95. ”

CNET Asia reviews the Nokia 82 and writes;
“As a camera-phone, the N82 is on par with the Sony Ericsson K850i Cyber-shot, and, in certain cases, betters it in terms of image quality. But, on the other hand, the K850i has dedicated camera controls that can enhance user experience when shooting. Overall, the N82 is a great all-round phone. Despite some niggles that could have been avoided, we’d still recommend it. ”

WirelessInfo reviews the Nokia 82 and writes;
“On the surface the N82 seems like close to the perfect all-in-one device, but it does have its flaws, mostly on the hardware side. We found the old timey calculator style keypad to be very annoying to use and the button layout is hindered by the overly prominent multimedia key. The D-Pad also leaves something to be desired as it is prone to errors because of an overly prominent center select button. ”

RegHardware reviews the Nokia 82 and writes;
“The performance on fully automatic settings is superb for a cameraphone. The camera self-adjusts metering extremely ably to changing lighting situations, and handles contrast well. Colours are rich, bright and natural, while captured images have impressive detail for a cameraphone.”

LetsGoMobile reviews the Nokia 82 and writes;
“The overall picture quality of the Nokia N82 is fine. Even in twilight, it is possible to take pictures of a reasonable quality. Shutter release lag is hardly noticeable but the camera does suffer from focus lag. It kills the spontaneous impulse of taking a snapshot because it takes too long when the camera has to focus first. ”

CNET UK reviews the Nokia 82 and writes;
“But as with the N95 it’s not just about the camera, the N82 packs GPS and we managed to find a satellite within minutes of stepping out of the office. The GPS just works and doesn’t feel as clunky as the GPS on the N95. ”

Nseries reviews the Nokia 82 and writes;
“The response time is very fast, in no time the camera is active and ready for use. There are various camera options in the settings menu, for changing scene mode, adjusting colour options, white balance, etc. When a picture is taken it stores very quickly. ”

CNET Australia has a first take reviews the Nokia 82 and writes;
“Like the N95, the N82 is a powerful handset that will certainly appeal to those who want a full-featured mobile phone. In particular, the addition of the Xenon flash will put the handset on par with the Sony Ericsson K850i for camera-phone fanatics. The lack of unique features on the N82 is, however, unlikely to make it compelling enough for N95 users to upgrade.”
