CNET has a review of the MVP 07 NCAA Baseball and rated it 7.7/10;
“There’s a lot to like with MVP 07. The gameplay is great, and the analog hitting feels natural and is complemented nicely and perhaps even eclipsed by the new pitching control. Once you’ve used the right analog stick to throw nine innings, you’ll be hard pressed to ever go back to the old method of pitching. However, there are a number of problems and omissions that do not make MVP 07 for everyone. EA needs to add more stadiums, include all of the Division 1 baseball teams, enhance the dynasty mode, and inject some sort of excitement into the game. “
IGN has a review of the MVP 07 NCAA Baseball and rated it 7.6/10;
“Rock and Fire Pitching is the newest innovation for MVP 07, and its attempt to recreate the sensation and realism of pitching mechanics completes EA Canada’s conceived “Triple Crown” of analog gameplay. It took the development team 14 iterations before they landed on one that worked well, and players will be favorably impressed…While the number of fields might be limited, the ability to customize your team isn’t. Players have the opportunity to select between one of five roster styles to determine the strengths and weaknesses of their favorite school’s club, such as being great with the long ball but weak in the field and on the base paths. You can also adjust the bats on your team’s rack for better power swings or contact hits.”
GameTrailers has a review of the MVP 07 NCAA Baseball and rated it 8.3/10;
“The biggest testament to the quality of MVP 07 NCAA Baseball is the way in which each mode or feature comes across. Trust us, there is no skimping going on here. Every mode and every feature feels well thought out and well executed, making the whole of the game enjoyable from the moment you boot it up…With innovative, fun controls, above average presentation, and more options, modes, and features than you can shake an aluminum bat at, MVP 07 NCAA Baseball on the PlayStation 2 is recommended for any baseball fan.”
GamePro has a review of the MVP 07 NCAA Baseball and rated it 4/5;
“MVP 07 also comes with some mini games that are worth mentioning. Home Run Showdown pits you side by side with the computer or a friend to see who has better batting chops. Classic Batting is a game that challenges you to hit the ball to a certain place in a certain way for points. Score enough and move on to the next round. The best part is that each game can help improving your skills…The most important aspect of any baseball video game is the controls, and while those found in MVP 07 will test your patience at times, they ultimately add to the overall experience. Those who’d rather play as steroid-injecting hulks with billion dollar contracts can try the major league baseball games; for me, college is where the real action is. Pros: Solid pitching/batting mechanic. Entertaining mini-games. Cons: Dull graphics and audio presentation.”
