Motorola MOTOZINE ZN5 Reviews

PCWorld reviews the Motorola ZN5 and writes;

“Audio quality for the most part was good but not stellar. Video quality, on the other hand, was worse than I expected; I saw a lot of blurriness and interference in the videos I played in my hands-on tests.”
Rating: ★★★★½

WirelessInfo reviews the Motorola ZN5 and writes;

“The media maven will be absolutely thrilled with the ZINE’s still image resolution performance, and then heartbroken with its video resolution performance afterward. While it offers a decent music player, its limited video file format compatibility will hinder its ability as an all-around media player”
Rating: N/A

PCWorldIndia reviews the Motorola ZN5 and writes;

“The Motorola Motozine ZN5 might not be the most eye-catching handset or the fastest phone around, but its impressive camera makes those small faults forgivable.”
Rating: ★★★★½

MobileBurn reviews the Motorola ZN5 and writes;

“the ZN5 is a good device. A better physical design and a UI tweak or two could have easily turned it into a great one, though. We still give it a solid “Recommended” rating and think that camera buffs will really enjoy it.”
Rating: ★★★★½

ComputerWorld reviews the Motorola ZN5 and writes;

“Call quality seemed fine but not quite as clear as on other phones I’ve used. The phone ran for three days before needing a battery recharge, which was about right given the number of photos I took with it.”
Rating: N/A

DigitalTrends reviews the Motorola ZN5 and writes;

Highs: Outstanding 5MP camera; Wi-Fi enabled; speedy web surfing; good music player. Lows: Video recording hiccups; microSD card under battery cover; lacks dedicated music controls”
Rating: ★★★★½

CNET reviews the Motorola ZN5 and writes;

The good: The Motorola ZN5 offers a fantastic camera with a wide range of options and excellent photo quality. The plentiful feature set includes stereo Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, the design is sleek and sturdy, and call quality is more than respectable. The bad: The Motorola ZN5’s memory card is located behind the battery cover. The menus can be pokey at times and the camera interface could use a refinement. Also, the ZN5 lacks video editing features and the photo uploading process had a couple of hiccups..”
Rating: ★★★☆☆

PhoneArena reviews the Motorola ZN5 and writes;

“The ZINE ZN5 has a modern design, it’s suitable for listening to music and has a very fast camera, which takes very good pictures if the sun is shining. Unfortunately, the story changes on cloudy days and indoors and the Xenon is only useful if taking a picture of an object at 7 feet at the most.”

Rating: ★★★★☆

InformationWeek reviews the Motorola ZN5 and writes;

“The image was perfectly metered, and the ZN5 had fired the perfect amount of fill flash to correctly expose the people inside the train. This is far and away better than what most camera phones are capable of… In all, it is Motorola’s best camera phone yet, and can certainly be used to replace your standalone point-and-shoot camera.”
Rating: N/A

PCMag reviews the Motorola ZN5 and writes;

“In sunny conditions, the first Motorola/Kodak camera phone holds its own against dedicated digital still cameras. It makes clear calls, too, so it’s a solid choice for avid shutterbugs with T-Mobile service.”
Rating: ★★★★☆

MobileBurn reviews the Motorola ZN5 and writes;

“We took a very close look at the 16″ x 20″ photos and found that the image quality coming out of the ZN5’s camera is really top notch.”
Rating: N/A

LaptopMag reviews the Motorola ZN5 and writes;

“The ZN5 has Motorola’s CrystalTalk technology, which canceled background noise effectively. Indoors and out, the volume was loud and comfortable on both ends of the call. When we made a call outdoors, our caller could understand everything we said and didn’t hear traffic rumbling by.”
Rating: ★★★☆☆

MobileArsenal reviews the Motorola ZN5 and writes;

“Motorola ZN5 is not a perfect device, that’s sure. I still say that this is the handset that we’ve been waiting for, for a long time. At last we have a Motorola that doesn’t only look good, but it’s also fast and it’s even finely assembled.”

ComputerWorld reviews the Motorola ZN5 and writes;

“she loved the styling and the “diamond” bevels that guide the user’s thumb on the keypad, along with the rubberized grip on the bottom of the phone that improves dexterity both when dialing and snapping pictures.”
Rating: N/A

MobileReview reviews the Motorola ZN5 and writes;

“In other words, the average user will be more than content with what the ZN5 brings to the table, plus it’s quite loud and has very few settings to worry about.”

I just recently got the ZN5 and it works well. I would say picture wise, form factor and Menus are Perfect. I just wish it really had TOUCH SCREEN capabilities. For the least part of it at times the middle menu bar at times is kinda invasive for texting – kinda gets in the way specially if you have big thumbs. Video is poor, but still the taking still pictures compensates for it. Memory should be increase to not just 350 as well as the card. Yes, the card slot should have been located outside for ease of changing in case it gets full. But in the end still everything works well and its a superb Camera and MP3 phone with the Bluetooth playability. It ROCKS!

i’ve had the motozine for a year. i’m not happy.
the sound quality is poor. in the car, it’s hare to hear the caller.
the keypad is ok if you have tiny fingers, but for normal fingers, its tricky not to hit the wrong button. this is NOT an ergonomic phone.
the big PROBLEMS are THE SPEAKER SUCKS and the TINY KEYS.
