Trusted Reviews reviews the Motorola MOTO Q9h and writes;
“It’s so good that I wrote the first 200 words of this very review on it while sitting on the sofa watching TV without cursing or swearing once - and it only took a few minutes of my time. In fact, next to the slide-out keyboard on the Samsung F700, I’d say this is the best hardware keyboard I’ve used on any phone…In short, I like the Motorola Q 9h. It’s clearly a budget handset and doesn’t have the full armoury of smartphone features. But Motorola has cut the corners in all the right places and added extra value where it counts too. Most importantly it’s a highly usable email tool with a brilliant keyboard and some genuinely useful software to go with it. It looks as if Blackberry finally has a genuine challenger.”

Datamation reviews the Motorola MOTO Q9h and writes;
“It does everything reasonably well, including playing music and videos, taking pictures and video and navigating. And for a cell phone, it does Web surfing brilliantly - when you’re using an HSDPA network such as Rogers offers in my area. ”

WirelessInfo reviews the Motorola MOTO Q9m and writes;
“Though it might not be the bell of the ball, the Q 9m is a sturdy little slab. It doesn’t have any moving parts. Although its made of plastic, the construction seems sturdy, and twisting it around didn’t elicit any creaks. The only concern we have is for the huge, exposed screen. It seems as though it could get scratched fairly easily. ”

InfoSyncWorld reviews the Motorola MOTO Q9c and writes;
“Voice quality was good; the person on the receiving end of our calls only thought it sounded like a wireless phone after we had mentioned it. Only minimal fuzz or background noise was detectable. Pros: Simple tethered modem access, excellent e-mail client, great call quality. Cons: Only comes with extended battery, outdated scroll wheel, no dedicated camera button.”

PCWorld reviews the Motorola MOTO Q9h and writes;
“Overall, the Moto Q Global might appeal to travelers seeking a Windows Mobile smart phone with a good keyboard, 3G data (in the United States, at least), and solid multimedia support. Perhaps its major shortcoming is also its selling point: Worldwide data support is horribly pricey, but, as the major GSM carrier in the United States, AT&T Wireless has something of a captive audience for this service. ”

PCMag reviews the Motorola MOTO Q9h and writes;
“The 2-megapixel camera is inconsistent: Photos taken in our simulated daylight lab looked clear and well balanced, but I saw blur in low-light photos, and shots taken outdoors during daytime overexposed the bright areas. The video mode takes small but smooth 176-by-144 videos at 15 frames per second. ”

LaptopMag reviews the Motorola MOTO Q9h and writes;
“The Motorola Q 9h global is one of the best smart phones money can buy, especially at its limited-time price of $199 with a two-year contract. It offers very solid call quality, and unlike with the BlackBerry Curve, you get 3G data speeds and the ability to edit attachments out of the box. Although we still prefer the Curve for its smaller size and longer battery life, power users will love what this versatile device has to offer. ”

MobileBurn reviews the Motorola MOTO Q9m and writes;
“The Motorola Q 9m is definitely a well-built device. The QWERTY keyboard’s special coating and domed keys make it a joy to use, and the scroll wheel is extremely handy to have as well. Windows Mobile 6 Standard Edition is very solid and offers a robust mobile experience in terms of multimedia. The sound quality through the Q 9m’s speaker is very good, and Verizon’s EV-DO high-speed network really supports the device well.”

CNET reviews the Motorola MOTO Q9h and writes;
“We didn’t have any problems running applications on the Q 9h. It comes with 95MB of RAM but some users may quickly use up the 256MB of in-built storage…If you’re looking for an attractive 3.5G PDA-phone with push email, Windows Mobile 6 and a QWERTY keyboard, the Motorola Q 9h is worthy of consideration, so long as you don’t need a touch-screen or Wi-Fi..”

DigitalTrends reviews the Motorola MOTO Q9 and writes;
“From the vibrant screen to the firm keys, there’s a lot to like here. The two-year plan may keep commitment-phoebes away, especially right now when so many interesting phones are arriving, but for solid Smartphone capabilities and overall value, the Motorola Q9m is definitely worth a look.”

Brighthand reviews the Motorola MOTO Q9 and writes;
“If you like the idea of buying, downloading, and listening to music on your phone, and you frequently send lots of text messages and/or emails when you’re on the go, then this device is right for you. And it isn’t all about leisure. The Q9m’s ability to create and edit Microsoft Office files means it’s useful for school and work, too.”

AssociatedPress reviews the Motorola MOTO Q9 and writes;
“I would much rather have had one top menu that worked really well. The Q9m lacks a touch screen and instead relies on a side-mounted BlackBerry-style scrollwheel. Combined with the sluggish Windows Mobile software, this makes the phone just too slow, clunky, and confusing”

MobileBurn reviews the Motorola MOTO Q9 and writes;
“Navigating the system is easy with the device’s two softkeys, home, and back/clear key. In most applications, the left softkey will perform the most common action for the screen you are on, such as creating a new contact in the Contacts application, while the right softkey will bring up a pop-up menu of additional options. ”

CNETAsia reviews the Motorola MOTO Q9 and writes;
“The good: QWERTY keypad; HSDPA (3.5G) connectivity; dual processors. The bad: No Wi-Fi; screen could be slightly wider. The bottom line: The Q 9 has one of the best smart phone keypads we have used and the Windows Mobile 6 software moves along fairly speedily. It’s definitely one of the better models out there at the moment.”

TrustedReviews reviews the Motorola MOTO Q9 and writes;
“The screen too is vital to usability and here we have a wide format 2.5 inch 320 x 240 pixel display. It would benefit from being a little larger, but in fairness it is in keeping with other devices and is sharp and bright enough… The Q9 is a bit on the large side for my taste, and while its keyboard is very good the screen is a bit small. Aside from the fact that it is hampered by the lack of Wi-Fi it does its job well.”

Pocket-Lint reviews the Motorola MOTO Q9 and writes;
“Having lived with the phone for three weeks before it was announced on the 16 May in the UK we’ve warmed to the handset from our initial first impressions however don’t feel that its as easy to use as we would have liked it to be. It is stylish it is looks and the Windows Mobile 6 interface will appeal, but for us, we still prefer the BlackBerry. Now where’s that Curve?”

TechDigest reviews the Motorola MOTO Q9 and writes;
“Images from the two megapixel camera measure 1,600×1,200 pixels. The results were reasonable, but not fantastic. It’ll shoot video too, but you’re limited to 320×240 resolution at 15fps. … The MOTO Q9 h has solid multimedia credentials and the keyboard is reasonably fast and accurate to type on. However, it is large for a phone and the navigation can be a bit fiddly at times”

Hands-on with Motorola Q Q9
CNET.UK reviews the Motorola MOTO Q9 and writes;
“Audio quality during calls was good and unlike many other smart phones didn’t sound distorted or muffled. The speaker-phone mode is loud and easy to access using a dedicated key on the keypad…The bottom line: The Q 9 has one of the best smart phone keypads we have used and the Windows Mobile 6 software moves along fairly speedily. It’s definitely one of the better models out there at the moment “
Mobileburn has a hands-on review of the Motorola MOTO Q9 and writes;
“A QWERTY keyboard, QVGA display, and 2.0 megapixel camera are all present and accounted for, with the quad-band GSM MOTOQ q9 featuring HSDPA and Bluetooth 2.0 for data connectivity. At just 11.6mm (0.46″) thick, the device looks great, and is packed with all the benefits of Microsoft’s new Windows Mobile 6 Standard operating system.”
