Gamespot has a review of the MLB 2K7 rated it 7.8/10 and writes;
“The presentation is excellent and really stands out when compared to the PlayStation 2 and Xbox versions of the game. The gameplay is enjoyable, though there’s still plenty of room for improvement. Even the 33 achievements in the Xbox 360 version are better than the five from last year, rewarding you for hitting and pitching prowess, online success, and for reaching secret objectives such as hitting for the cycle.”
IGN has a review of the MLB 2K7 rated it 7/10 and writes;
“Fielding has been improved as the physics system is toned way down. That means in 2K7, you can actually control your fielders. How novel. One great touch is the ability to call off your teammates. We’ve had some nasty collisions that can easily be avoided if you wave off an overeager shortstop. These collisions can lead to some nasty injuries in franchise mode, so hit the button often. Still, diving is not nearly as intuitive as in MVP 2005, EA’s last great MLB game.”
TeamXbox has a review of the MLB 2K7 rated it 8.4/10 and writes;
“The first things you’ll notice about MLB 2K7 when you take the virtual field for the first time are the stunningly realistic player models. The team went to great lengths to recreate the stances, movements, and mannerisms of over 300 major leaguers, and their efforts have paid off in a big way. I played a number of games with my beloved Boston Red Sox, and each of the stars looked eerily like their real-life counterparts, from the way they waggled their bats at the plate to their windups and deliveries.”
1up has a review of the MLB 2K7 rated it 7.5/10 and writes;
“The defensive play, like the pitching, doesn’t break any new ground. Sometimes it’s even a Manny Ramirez–like adventure, as you’ll overrun balls in the outfield and fly balls will bang off of your glove. It’s great that the wind will force players to move around to make the catch, but there are a surprising number of lunkhead plays…In the end, this game’s stunning details should keep you engaged all summer long. But the lack of overall gameplay innovation keeps this from making the All-Star team.”
