IGN has a Show review of the MLB 07 rated it 7.9/10 and writes;
“MLB 07 also features a number of new online features either via Ad Hoc or Infrastructure play. For one thing, players can join online leagues of up to 30 separate teams and establish leaderboards, playoffs and other items. A player can also choose to be the commissioner of the own league, establishing separate rules and league schedules…PSP owners now have the opportunity to post discussions to the MLB 07 Message Boards, as well as send and receive mail to friends that you’ve played against online.”
GameZone has a Show review of the MLB 07 rated it 8.1/10 and writes;
“Outstanding commentary, realistic sound effects, and a great soundtrack featuring bands like Switchfoot, My Chemical Romance, Halifax, and Maxeen…A smooth blend of challenges, including the sweet taste and aroma of the new Road to The Show mode. It’s by far the most interesting of any challenge this game has to offer.”
GameRadar has a Show preview of the MLB 07 and writes;
“MLB’s create-a-player career mode returns from last season, but this year there’s also a new and expanded individual tale that unfolds in the “Road to the Show.” Focusing solely on your creation and his quest to land a full-time gig in the big leagues, it’s a unique approach that plays differently based on position and works great in an on-the-go setting. Instead of taking control of your team throughout the full nine innings, you’ll only be involved when your player’s at-bats or fielding opportunities come up; this translates into short, focused bursts and quick games.”
GamingTarget has a Show review of the MLB 07 and writes;
“Like a portable game should be, MLB is great for pick-up-and-play action. It can be a slightly complicated game at first, but as you play and advance through the season or play more games against human competition, the little nuances come out and it becomes an intuitive, fun game…For a launch-era title, MLB is a solid and frequently outstanding baseball game for the PSP. The features scream of a launch sports game, but the gameplay is polished like a late-gen powerhouse. Built primarily as a pick-up-and-play hardball sim, it straddles that line very well, providing realistic gameplay without being complex or cumbersome.”
Yahoo!Games has a Show review of the MLB 07 rated it 4/5 and writes;
“Along with the golf-game style pitching and taking confidence into account, being on the mound is actually more fun than being at the plate. Hitting isn’t as altered, but swing analysis shows you why you whiffed that last pitch, and it’s still fun to try to select the pitch/location before the throw. Even baserunning is improved to make it a little less cumbersome to manage.”
GamePro has a Show review of the MLB 07 rated it 4/5 and writes;
“There are plenty of features to keep you entertained; Home Run Derby and King of the Diamond let you focus on honing specific skills. You can choose to play one exhibition, an entire season, the playoffs or even Rivalry Mode, where you can set up multi-game rivalries against other players or the AI. MLB 07 looks and sounds great. It’s amazing how specific the announcers’ comments are, players look like their real-world counterparts and stadiums have the intricate details that will make any fan proud.”
