LaptopMag has a review of the LG VX8300;
“Within Verizon’s EV-DO range, the phone downloaded videos impressively fast. Launching the V CAST Video channel listing typically took 12 to 15 seconds, and then a 1.5-minute video from YouTube or Revver, for example, took only six seconds to load. A 2.5-minute CNN news clip loaded within seven seconds. Loading the V CAST Music page took five to six seconds. The video quality was smooth and reasonably sharp overall, but we noticed some banding, and in a few videos the subject was slightly off focus. Downloading a song was poky, usually taking 40 seconds. The phone’s dual speakers sounded terrific during both music and video playback.”
CNET has a review of the LG VX8300 rated it 8/10 and writes;
“The good: The LG VX8300 has an attractive design, solid audio and video quality, and a full range of high-end features. The bad: The LG VX8300’s Bluetooth feature does not support file transfers. The bottom line: The LG V8300 is a well-designed and high-performing EV-DO phone for Verizon Wireless.”
PCmag has a review of the LG VX8300 rated it 4/5 and writes;
“The VX8300 has marginally better reception and considerably better battery life than the previous version. The earpiece and especially the speakerphone are both loud; the speakerphone cuts through even in outdoor environments…The VX8300’s 1.3-megapixel camera is considerably better than that of the VX8100; photos are sharper, better focused, and less washed out.”
MobileTechReview has a review of the LG VX8300 and writes;
Pro: Slimmer clamshell body, 1.3 megapixel takes very good photos and records nice videos, both internal and external screens are bright with good color balance, the stereo speakers are good and stereo headset output is great! V Cast support creates enormous opportunity for the LG to entertain with video, music, news and more, great standby time. Con: Not much data usability outside the Verizon Web portal, WAP sites and the V Cast content (many popular web sites get out of memory errors, though the browser does manage to load the page or most of it), You need to buy additional kit to get the stereo headsets, music ripping CD and the USB cable. “
