Absolute Gadget reviews the LG U400, they rated the phone 7/10 and write:
“Dialling out is easy to do and subsequently, texting is easy enough to do as the keys are very responsive and the predictive text function seems to accurately predict what I want to write (how many times have you written book instead of cool?). Call quality was very good and we didn’t experience any dropped calls.”
Shiny Shiny reviews the LG U400, they write:
“There are other things that make this a good music phone. Headphones are bundled with it, and appear as standard in-ear headphones, connected into an in-line remote via a 35 mm jack. This means you can quickly discard them and insert your own. …There’s also a 2 Megapixel camera which isn’t hidden under the slide like many of these types of phones. This way you can shoot as you would a normal camera. The screen is also bright and crisp, so you can see the pictures in all their glory.”
IT-Reviews reviews the LG U400, they write:
“But then this handset is somewhat different from the norm, as that twisty wheel means the whole front design is unique. The handset is a slider, so the numberpad is hidden away, and it is small (99.8mm tall, 48mm wide and 20.4mm deep) and weighs just 114g. Much of its casing is shiny black, i.e. it looks nice, but you do need to keep wiping finger marks off. The U400 is exclusive to Three as I write, and a dedicated button launches Three’s music portal. Pushing the top of the wheel drops you into Three’s Mobile TV menu.”
Trusted-Reviews reviews the LG U400, they rated the phone 7/10 and write:
“Good old fashioned music playback was of surprisingly high quality through the provided headset. The equaliser has a noticeable effect on playback through headphones, though it is less obvious through the handset’s twin speakers. Similarly 3D simulated sounds were noticeable through headset but not through the handset speakers. You can send stereo music to a Bluetooth headset if you have one. ..There is a lot to like here, but also a lot that frustrates. Leave the wheel alone and you should find navigating easier. Abandon the LG earbuds for your own headset and you should also be more comfortable. If you can learn to live with the short battery life you’ll enjoy the very acceptable quality of the music output.”
3G reviews the LG U400, they write:
“Beyond it’s music-centric features, two elements really impressed. Firstly, the two-inch QVGA display is very striking with crisp detail, while its video call performance was a pleasant surprise. We made a call to the new Sony Ericsson V630, and the quality was enough to wax lyrical about the virtues of video telephony. Well, almost. Obviously, mugshot pixelation did occur but for the best part the headshots were quite clear.”
