LG Rumor Reviews
MobileTechReview reviews the LG Rumor and writes;
“The LG Rumor comes with a standard Li-Polymer battery (model LGLP-AHFM) that’s 950 mAh in capacity and a small world charger. Battery life is great with at least 4 hours of talk time and 2 weeks in standby…Pro: Great reception, call quality and volume. QWERTY keyboard is easy to use. GPS works well over Vision. Excellent camera performance by 1.3mp standards. Good battery life.Con: The overall user interface and menu structure still take too many clicks to get things done. Voice over Bluetooth isn’t the best we’ve heard. We’ve tested several units, and many have system crashes when access Sprint’s Vision network. ”

“We tested the dual-band LG Rumor (CDMA 800/1900; 1xRTT) in San Francisco using Sprint’s network. Call quality was pretty good with most calls. Callers reported hearing us loud and clear, and we thought voices sounded natural with good volume. There was slight static every once in a while, but it wasn’t that bad. Speakerphone calls could be a little better, as we occasionally heard some muffled noises and echoes. ”

Infosync reviews the LG Rumor and writes;
“While it might be obvious to compare the LG Rumor, with its slide-out QWERTY keyboard, to an HTC device like the Sprint Mogul, in fact, our first impression was that we were looking at a new LG enV. The rumor shares similar lines and curves with the enV, and is about the same thickness. The main difference is that the enV opens like a clamshell and packs a spare screen inside. Overall, though, we like the look of the Rumor better, and we definitely prefer the rumor’s screen and interface. ”

“Instant messaging clients from AOL, MSN, and Yahoo are included and performed adequately, and we like that they’re easily accessible from the Messaging menu. However, it took the Rumor nearly a minute to log us in and display our contact list. The lack of EV-DO makes surfing the Web feel like a turtle race: Citysearch.com loaded in 15 seconds, and the mobile version of NYTimes.com took close to a minute. The Rumor also features GPS navigation via Sprint Navigation, which provides full turn-by-turn directions with local search, voice, and a map display. The local search function worked as promised; we were able to find the nearest Dunkin’ Donuts in midtown Manhattan. ”

PC Mag reviews the LG Rumor and writes;
“The Rumor excels as a voice phone. Sound quality was loud and crisp through both the earpiece and a Sound ID SM100 Bluetooth headset, with excellent noise rejection and superb reception. In fact, the Rumor is one of the better-sounding phones I’ve tested recently. The speakerphone was less impressive, though. I found it was difficult to get enough volume out of the device in this mode, and it occasionally muted the beginnings of words. ”
