LG Prada KE850 Reviews

Let’sGoMobile reviews the LG Prada and writes;

“the monitor can hardly be used in direct sunlight and the MP-3 player sometimes fails to add songs to the playlist. But nevertheless, the LG Prada is a delight to work with…The LG Prada is easy to use and surely also suitable for the less experienced or beginning mobile phone user. In short: good sound quality, innovative and easy operation, a large and clear display and a tight design.”
Rating: ★★★½☆

PCMag reviews the LG Prada and writes;

“The Prada is an acceptable but not excellent voice phone. I tried it on the Cingular network, though as a 900/1800/1900 MHz phone it works better on T-Mobile. Reception on Cingular’s network was mediocre. Voices through the earpiece were smooth and well-rounded, but didn’t get very loud; the speakerphone was quiet, with a bit of a buzz at top volume.”
Rating: ★★★½☆

Mobileburn reviews the LG Prada and writes;

“There is no denying that the LG KE850 Prada phone is an elegant piece of kit. People want to touch it as soon as they see it, which is great since the device is operated almost exclusively by touch. But the user interface has its share of problems that are going to turn off a lot of people, text entry and contact management are particular problems, but it is also a device that you interact with more than just use, and that is worth something. As far as multimedia goes, the music player might be pretty weak, but at least the camera is solid and extremely easy to use. And did I mention how pretty it is?”

GSM Arena reviews the LG Prada and writes;

“ophistication made simple is the most appropriate tagline that would best describe the concept of this highly fashionable and highly expensive handset. Almost everything about it is made as simple as it can get, while at the same time it is a revolutionary step as compared to joystick or D-pad operated handsets. The Prada phone by LG is surely a quick winner in the fashionable market segment and it comes with a price tag to match it. If you don’t mind the lack of 3G and you are not much into web surfing from your handheld you would be delighted at what this baby can offer you – a killer fashion statement plus the enjoyment of using a state-of-the-art technological achievement.”

TrustedReviews reviews the LG Prada and writes;

“Shutter lag is the real problem, though. If your subject is still and you can hold the phone steady you stand a chance of getting a reasonable photo. But the phone takes a while to focus before actually shoots at which point both you and your subject may have moved… I want to say ‘eat your heart out Apple, this is one in the eye for the iPhone’. And indeed LG and Prada have come up with a touch screen interface for a mid-range phone that actually works quite well and is available today. But the silver plasticy parts are a disaster for a phone that wants to look cool, the camera is poor, and I’m sure the casing won’t be scratch free for long.”

CNET reviews the LG Prada and writes;

The good: The LG Prada cell phone has a sophisticated and stylish design that is sure to turn heads. Its 3-inch display is stunning, and the touch screen interface is surprisingly usable. It also has a 2.0-megapixel camera, a music player, and a document viewer. The bad: The LG Prada does not have 3G support, which is unfortunate for such an expensive phone. While the touch screen interface isn’t too difficult to use, it still requires a little bit of a learning curve. A few of the phone’s external buttons are a little hard to press, and the microSD card slot is inconveniently located behind the battery. The bottom line: While the LG Prada is a gorgeous phone with a stunning touch screen display, its simple feature set may not justify its hefty price tag. That said, if you want one of the most fashionable phones available, the LG Prada is definitely the phone to get. ”

3G reviews the LG Prada
and writes;

“Also impressive is the quality of the phone’s display when you watch a video clip. A short clip of a train hurtling through a train station, shot by one of the LG team, was stored on the phone and the quality was excellent. You can render the clip to view it vertically or horizontally…However, this phone has the wow factor of the Chocolate and should appeal to those who like their fashion accessories to carry a label with kudos. And while the touch-screen technology may cause you to occasionally choose the wrong menu option, it is essentially a fun and savvy way to navigate your phone.”
Rating: ★★★★½

RegHardware reviews the LG Prada and writes;

“The dial pad is a pleasure to use. It’s very responsive, with almost no lag between tap and the appearance of the number on the screen. There’s no bevel round the screen as there is with so many PDA-style phones, and the buttons are a big enough for even large-fingered fellows like me to tap away without catching the wrong one. The same is true of the text-entry pad. I have never used a phone touch-screen that’s as easy to use as this one…LG and Prada’s joint effort has the looks of a sleek digital music player and if some of the styling’s a tad tacky, it hides an inner beauty: one of the slickest, smartest user interfaces around – at least until Apple’s iPhone hits the High Street. ”

Pocket-Lint reviews the LG Prada and writes;

“In short, wow! The Prada phone may not be an all singing all dancing 3G-enabled video-messaging, diary-organising handset, but it is an incredibly stylish phone that works a treat and is guaranteed to turn heads…If, and I suspect you are if you’re interested in this phone, you just want a phone that is only really a phone (well with a few add-ons) then this beats the Chocolate and the Razr hands down. A contender for phone of the year? Most definitely and who would have thought it from a fashion house?”
Rating: ★★★★½

Vnunet reviews the LG Prada and writes;

“Battery life is acceptable, though not outstanding, lasting a day and a half of moderate use – you may want to charge it each day to be on the safe side. When using the 2-megapixel camera, shooting and viewing pictures full screen is great, and the large display makes surfing the internet a breeze, too. Overall this is an impressive, though not a perfect handset, but any drawbacks are more than offset by the sheer stylishness of the phone and the knowledge that everyone is going to be jealous you’ve got one.”
Rating: ★★★★☆

Mobileburn has a hands-on review of the LG Prada;

” The biggest benefit to this type of touchscreen has to be the fact that the screen is hard and durable, just as would be any other non-touch sensitive display. On top of that, the display’s touch sensitive cover is mounted flush with the body of the device, leaving no nasty corners for dust to accumulate, and allowing users to simply wipe the display off on their pants leg…It is pretty, compact, and very holdable. The UI’s interesting little touches, such as being able to drag the standby screen’s analog clock around with your fingertip, are quite endearing.”
