Stuff reviews the LG KU990 (LG Viewty) and writes;
“The phone also has a built-in image editor, which lets you add text and cut-out images (hearts, butterflies, stars, etc), crop the picture, or add effects to blur, sharpen, or change colours. There’s also a basic face morphing feature to make people smile or frown more, or just give them fat faces…The quality of the images was very good for a camera phone, and it certainly does it faster than Nokia’s N95. ”

Mobileburn reviews the LG KU990 (LG Viewty) and writes;
“Overall, the Viewty’s user interface was a pleasure to use, mainly due to the large, bright, colorful screen and unusual touch interface. Menus were well structured and generally intuitive, with attractive animations between some menus…Pros: Large colorful screen, fun slow-motion video, sturdy feel, sleek design. Cons: Sluggish interface, disappointing web browser, below average call quality, finicky camera ”

Vnunet reviews the LG KU990 (LG Viewty) and writes;
“LG has also made concessions to those who like to share video footage with the rest of the world, allowing users to upload their recorded movies directly from the phone onto Youtube. Design-wise the Viewty really is a beauty, with its sleek black housing, and despite its many features it is also very light. The t ouchscreen is extremely bright and clear, and very sensitive, making it easy to navigate the phone’s menus. ”

IT Reviews reviews the LG KU990 (LG Viewty) and writes;
“Verdict: The quirky jog wheel aside, using this mobile was pretty comfortable. The camera performed well too. It isn’t the smallest mobile for the pocket, though, and the screen does pick up finger-grease easily. ”

Connected Internet reviews the LG KU990 (LG Viewty) and writes;
“The LG Viewty sets new standards for cameraphones by including a manual focus function, a first for a cameraphone. It also includes an image stabiliser that helps record clearer images. I shot a few shots with the camera in the States and compared them to my 7 megapixel digital camera and they were comparable. ”

Dial a Phone reviews the LG KU990 (LG Viewty) and writes;
“Cleverly, video shooting can be up to 120 frames per second. Playback is at 30fps, which means effects like slow motion can be achieved with camera phone footage, which is very impressive. There is a feature for direct one-click YouTube uploading, made even easier by the fact that it’s an HSDPA phone, but this is going to be network-dependent. ”

LetsGoMobile reviews the LG KU990 (LG Viewty) and writes;
“The LG Viewty has been equipped with a 3-inch 262,144 colour touchscreen monitor. Average colour reproduction is fine. When a colorful object is captured, the colours are not well rendered on the monitor at times…The touchscreen monitor responds very well. I clearly noticed the difference with the LG Prada monitor that has a somewhat slower response now and then. ”

CNET Australia reviews the LG KU990 (LG Viewty) and writes;
“The Viewty also boasts a “movie-maker” style editing application. Videos and still pictures can be imported, arranged and edited onto a simple timeline, and two channels of audio give you the option to add music to the natural sound of videos in your project. When you’ve finished the clip is ready to be uploaded directly to YouTube or your blog. ”

TweakTown reviews the LG KU990 (LG Viewty) and writes;
“None the less it beats most other mobile phone cameras and it also offers a few interesting features such as the option for manual focusing and up to 16x digital zoom. The digital zoom is pretty much useless past 2x as the pictures become too pixelated to be of any real use. The oddest feature which ties in with the camera is the zoom controller, this also doubles up as the scroll wheel on the phone as this is a ring around the camera lens. This works ok in theory, but in practice it’s way too easy to get your fingers in the way if you use the zoom.”

Coolest Gadgets reviews the LG KU990 (LG Viewty) and writes;
“Navigation is made straight forward and friendly by the large and sensible icon layout on the touch screen. Helpfully, you can also set the touchpad to vibrate when you touch it – confirming each selection. Although the icons and buttons on the touchpad are a good size, not having small fingers or long fingernails be a disadvantage, but if this is the case, the small extendable stylus on standby.”

CNET UK reviews the LG KU990 (LG Viewty) and writes;
“If you want to take relatively high-quality photos and videos then the KU990 is definitely worth checking out. Alongside the good camera, easy-to-use touchscreen interface and HSDPA (3.5G), we think LG has made one of its best phones yet. ”

3G reviews the LG KU990 (LG Viewty) and writes;
“Aside from some basic spelling errors in the scene setting, the graphics and attention to detail are great. The touch-responsive screen allows you to blast the bad guys, simply by tapping them with your finger or stylus as they appear. It sounds simple in theory, but as the baddies appear from nowhere, firing at you thick and fast, it can get a little hairy, and you have to ensure that you don’t lose points by getting trigger-happy and blasting good guys. ”

Trusted Reviews reviews the LG KU990 (LG Viewty) and writes;
“Battery life proved no more than adequate. Continuous music playback got me a little over seven hours, though the screen did remain on throughout and I suspect you could better this in the real world by turning the screen off during playback…The Viewty is a good example of what a touchscreen handset can be. Large icons (mostly), easy access to most common functions, and some neat extras like the sweeping feature. Even the camera is top-notch. All we need now is a screen that doesn’t gather fingerprints and an easily accessible memory slot.

This is a great phone. Many people have commented on some of its flaws (slightly sluggish when going through menus etc) but if you can forget these tiny flaws you will soon realise that you get so much with this phone that most other phones simply cannot offer.
Firstly, there is a 5 mega pixel camera. My digital camera only has 3 mp!
You can also watch youtube video’s on the phone. Not only that, you can actually upload video’s you have taken straight onto youtube - no need for a computer.
Google maps is great on the big screen.
You can watch TV on the phone. With T-Mobile I pay £5 a month for the Sky Sports and News package. You get sky news, sky sports news, sky sports 1-3, and some other channels such as racing and wrestling.
