LG GM205 Brio Press Release
The LG GM205 is also known as the Brio and is a simple and assuming handset that is both compact and lightweight. Offering a wide variety of functionality coupled with an impressive standby time of up to 450 hours and an equally impressive talk time of up to 8 hours, this simplistic unit provides all that is required in a mobile phone. Measuring 106 mm x 48 mm wide, whilst being only 14 mm thick, this unit is compact in nature. Another important element is its weight of only 85 g.
The handset comes with a 2.0 inch TFT display screen which provides the means to display up to 256,000 colours at a pixel screen size of 176 x 220 pixels. Imagery displayed on the screen is both colourful and vibrant, with a clarity that is unusual in a budget handset. Both vibration and ring alert types are available with this handset, with the added benefit of being able to download polyphonic and MP3 ringtones to further supplement the existing options. A speakerphone is included, as well as Dolby surround sound technology and a set of three speakers, two stereo speakers and one woofer. In addition a 3.5 mm audio Jack is included. The handset provides photo call capabilities whilst also having the ability to retain up to 1000 entries with its phonebook, as well as the last 50 dialled, received and missed calls within its call records.
Class 10 versions of both, GPRS and EDGE are supplemented by both blue tooth and USB, which come as version 2.0. One of the key elements within this handset is its microSD card slot, which apart from the obvious uses also provides the means to improve the memory capacity of the handset up to 2 GB.
Entertainment comes in a variety of guises and includes a FM radio with RDS capabilities, which comes with a built in antenna. In addition a variety of games including Sudoku and ZooZoo club are usually provided for entertainment. For those who prefer downloaded audio and video files, the MP4/MP3 player can accommodate most major audio and video file formats.
The LG GM205 Red is one of the colour variants available, with other options including black, silver and gold. In addition to the aforementioned functionality an organiser is also included. The unit is an impressively functional budget music handset, which has proved to be popular since its release in 2009, and justifiably so.
