Lenovo IdeaPad U110 Reviews

LaptopMag review the Lenovo IdeaPad U110 and writes;

“The artistic motif extends to the underside of the system. The fan vents are styled after the Greek key pattern. The luxury feast continues under the lid to the system’s black, piano key–inspired keyboard and palm rests…The IdeaPad U110’s glossy, 11.1-inch glass screen is gorgeous; its lack of a physical frame allows for a very sleek, unified look. Additionally, the display employs backlit-LED technology, rather than the CCFL backlight used on most notebooks, making the U110’s brighter, lighter, and thinner. Additionally, the LED consumes less power than a traditional LCD.”

Notebook Review first thoughts review the Lenovo IdeaPad U110 and writes;

“The IdeaPad U110 is surprisingly solid in terms of build quality. The aluminum etch display cover and magnesium aluminum chassis provide both strength and light weight. You can press as hard as you want anywhere on the body of the notebook and it simply will not flex. Like the ThinkPad line, the IdeaPad U110 is designed for (accidental) abuse and drops, and we’re guessing the U110 might be the most rugged laptop in the IdeaPad lineup. Unlike with the ThinkPads, you don’t get a double latch mechanism with button release to make sure the screen is held down when it is closed and being carried. Instead, the U110 uses hinge tension to hold the screen in place.”

Gizmodo review the Lenovo IdeaPad U110 and writes;

“Lenovo packed in the little details. You get two batteries (4-cell and 7-cell) depending on your desired weight load. You get an external USB DVD drive since it lacks one of its own. Oh, and you get a cloth for the unbelievable smudgetastic glossy finish…Let’s put it this way—it’s buyable. It’s not the fastest Vista laptop, and if you want any decent battery life you’ll lose a chunk of the ultra-sexy form factor. But if you want a fully-capable laptop that’s extremely mobile—one that I’d say can conceivably function as your main computer—then sure. Because while the smaller battery’s life may be less than optimal, the real purchase-preventer here seems to be the price. And if you don’t care, neither do we.”
