ShinyShiny reviews the HTC P4350 and writes;
“As far as reliability is concerned, the unit I was using crashed a couple of times over the few days I was using it, which is actually less than several other Windows Mobile devices I’ve had the pleasure of. Battery life lasts you about 3 days of medium-use. Overall, I found the fact that I don’t work of a Microsoft Server made the practicalities of this phone limited – it meant I couldn’t get Push email. But, if you’re the busy type with a Microsoft Exchange server, and don’t mind the lack of 3G or HSDPA, it might be worth a look. “
Let’sGoMobile reviews the HTC P4350 (rating: 84%) and writes;
“In practise the HTC Herald P4350 turns out to be a telephone that does get a high score for some features but it drops a few stitches here and there on other features. The screen is large and easy to work with but don’t take it outside when the sun is shining bright because then it is too difficult to see anything at all on the screen. The camera is nice but does not perform too well under dim light circumstances and the so-called fixed focus makes the pictures come out less clear than what you would expect. The extending keyboard is very handy to work with; an SMS can be written in no-time at all and the same of course applies to an MMS or an email. The design is useful, the telephone has a good hand fit and the buttons have been placed on the right spot. The quality of the calls is fine as well as the reception. The telephone can definitely compete with the larger brands in its class. In short, HTC haven’t got it completely yet, but are well on their way to make their concept a success and the HTC P4350 is a phone that you don’t mind being seen with! “
Pocket-Lint reviews the HTC P4350 (rating: 8/10) and writes;
“For those not looking for the all singing all dancing capabilities of the TyTN the P4350 will fit the bill, however given the choice on a Smartphone of having 3G and HSDPA built in or just regular GSM we know that we, and any self requesting business man would do the same. Of course if you aren’t playing any web surfing, or worried about the speed you can get your emails then the faster online access speed won’t be an issue and you can opt for this and save yourself a few bob. Overall, like the TyTN a good strong performer, but for us we would opt for the TyTN or, although yet to be reviewed the Ameo, but then that’s a different proposition all together.”
TrustedReviews reviews the HTC P4350 (rating: 6/6) and writes;
“The good news is that the keyboard is very positive to use. You wouldn’t want to write long documents with it, but it is perfectly fine for email, SMS creation, or a little bit of document editing. The individual keys are just about as large as they could possibly be given the available space and they fit nicely under both thumbs when holding the P4350 in two hands….HTC has made some very impressive Pocket PCs. The P4350 is not one of those, being in most respects average, in others below par. The keyboard is its star attraction but on its own it is not enough to sell this Pocket PC to me.”
Modaco reviews the HTC P4350 (rating: 3/5) and writes;
“As mentioned above, I had high hopes for this handset… and on the whole i’ve not been disappointed. It’s blend of compact size, great keypad, great keyboard, great screen and WiFi make it the perfect device for me, taking into account the fact I spend 99% of my life out of 3G coverage. This device is so perfect for me, i’ve bought one to use as my main device..There’s no denying that £380 is a lot of money, but amongst it’s peers, the P4350 offers decent value, and I think prospective purchasers who have read this review are unlikely to be disappointed.”
CoolSmartPhone reviews the HTC P4350 and writes;
“The P4350 is a slim device with a great keypad which is easy and comfortable to use. You’ll find your self jotting down fairly “simple” Word documents on this and then – when you email it to your boss – it’s a lot more detailed and longer than you thought purely because the keyboard is such a joy to use. The bad points? You’ve got the lack of 3G, the slight expensive price tag and a slightly flimsy rear battery cover, but I’m prepared to forgive these minor points as the all-round performance and flexibility more than makes up for it. The HTC P4350 is a great all-round package. It’s small enough to feel like a phone and flexible enough to do most laptop tasks. If you go out and forget your laptop you’ll never need to worry if you’ve got this in your pocket. Your boss will think you’re at work, your friends will think it’s a cool phone and you’ll have a practical, versatile device for every day use.

CNET.UK reviews the HTC P4350 and writes;
“The HTC P4350’s feature set is, for the most part, strong. Certainly if you’re looking for a connected handheld with a keyboard and you don’t need 3G data speeds, then it’s worth considering. We find it difficult to recommend the P4350 unreservedly, though. Windows Mobile 6 will soon be appearing in devices, and this offers several enhancements — particularly for office networks running Microsoft Exchange Server at the back end. Also, the HTC TyTN shares the P4350’s key characteristics but adds 3G, which will be a clincher for many buyers. “
IntoMobile reviews the HTC P4350 and writes;
“First the good stuff. The Herald is about as close to the perfect Windows smartphone as you can get today. And to be perfect, the phone has to have a full qwerty keyboard (slider preferred), large screen, high speed wireless data, wifi, decent camera, good RAM, speedy CPU, slim-ish form factor, decent battery life. This full-on mobile office and entertainment solution exceeds expectations on several fronts. The nicely tweaked CPU and RAM provide a good user experience…Sure there are other smartphones that are slimmer (barely) or faster or have 3G radios or have sliding keyboards, but not all in one nice Windows-based package. No 3G but a sexy, slim figure on the HTC P4350 sounds like a fair enough trade.”
PDAGold reviews the HTC P4350 and writes;
“The HTC P4350 (Herald) does not bring any ground-breaking innovations yet virtually all of its features have been brought (close) to perfection. Despite the weak processor, it offers more than the Artemis, which has almost identical parameters. The display is brilliant, audio capabilities more than satisfactory. Bluetooth and WiFi work fine (better sensitivity would be welcome). The Herald excelled as a cell phone, and its camera ranks among the best in this category (Windows Mobile devices)…From the user’s point of view, perhaps the most controversial part is the OMAP processor at 201 MHz. We can argue endlessly whether it provides sufficient computing power or not but it will always depend on the usage pattern. In my view, the processor is powerful enough for everything but some demanding games and hi-res video. It will therefore be viewed differently by enthusiastic gamers and video-watchers and by professional people who need to manage personal information and communicate with others.”
MSMMobileNews reviews the HTC P4350 and writes;
“The HTC P4350 will no doubt be picked up by one or more operators in the usual markets (UK and Europe, maybe USA) and that can only be a good thing. I really like this device, it offers the slim design of the SPV M600 whilst offering the functionality of the slide-out QWERTY keyboard usually found on far thicker devices. Having used the HTC Hermes (in it’s SPV M3100 guise) as my main device in recent months I have grown accustomed to data entry using such a mechanism, as such its inclusion on the HTC P4350 is a big plus point for me, it makes the process of data entry simple and also provides that added wow-factor which we all know makes the difference when showing off your phone to your friends and family! So would I spend my hard-earned cash on a HTC P4350? Well at £379.95 inc VAT its no doubt going to be in need of a subsidised contract however it’s a really great device and one that I’m confident will find its way into many people’s pockets in the near future.”
PhoneDog reviews the HTC P4350 (rating: 4.8/5) and writes;
“Overall the P4350 is an amazing phone. The phone offers a wide range of features and looks amazing. The best part of the P4350 is the looks and feel of the phone. The phone seems very solid and heavy which makes it very sturdy. The phone weighs 168 grams. Some may find that the processor is way to slow for their needs. The processor in the P4350 is a 200 MHz OMAP 850. Although the processor is only 200 MHz I found it to be fast and responsive especially due to the fact that there are never any unused programs running in the background. Users that run many powerful applications simultaneously may find it too slow for their needs. “
RegHardware reviews the HTC P4350 and writes;
“On the telephony side there’s been progress, although device was strangely hesitant about hanging up a call. Call quality was average, although boosted by a decent loudspeaker. In landscape mode it was not possible to start Word Mobile or Tasks. There seems to be no sense behind this decision. And while the variety of pen input methods was welcome, there seemed no logic to when the text entry box would appear or disappear. Sometimes it just liked to hang around.”
ITPro reviews the HTC P4350 and writes;
“While the P4350 can do a lot of computing on its own, it is still a companion device to your PC. But the sheer flexibility now present in Windows Mobile means I’d have no hesitation in relying on this smartphone for all my computing needs on a week long business trip.”
