DigitalTrends has a review of the HP TouchSmart IQ770 (rating: 8/10);

“What we think really makes this system stand out though is the integrated pocket media bay so you can add even more storage space, the 1.3 megapixel camera, coaxial digital out and the integrated NTSC and ATSC TV tuners. Other features include integrated 802.11 a/b/g WiFi, 5.1 audio out, FireWire and 4 USB inputs, and an 8-in-1 media card reader…Highs: Powerful and simple to use; touch screen works great; upgradeable memory & storage. Lows:Keyboard is missing media keys; uses a mobile CPU.”

CNET has a review of the HP TouchSmart IQ770 (rating: 7.9/10);

The good: Takes advantage of Windows Vista’s touch screen capability with useful, easy-to-use software; combines with HP printers to become an at-home photo kiosk; contains all of the features you’ve come to expect from a modern digital media-oriented home PC. The bad: Pokey performance for systems in its price range; fixed configuration; no HD optical drive option. “

PCadvisor has a review of the HP TouchSmart IQ770;

“The screen is extremely robust, and its surface can be wiped clean within seconds, so you don’t need to worry about punching a hole in the glass, or getting the screen dirty. And, since the TouchSmart is a hefty beast, neither do you need to worry about knocking it off the table…In our view, the touchscreen contributes vitally to the product’s adaptability to a wide range of environments in the home, from queuing up media content in the living room to accessing recipes in the kitchen. And usefully, you also have the choice of a well-weighted stylus, should you prefer to use a pen rather than a finger.”

PCmag has a review of the HP TouchSmart IQ770 rated it 4/5 and writes;

“Using SmartCenter is easy: just touch the “home” key on the front bezel of the PC, and SmartCenter boots up. SmartCenter leverages the touchscreen, making the IQ770 a centralized information appliance. It displays the local weather, TV, music, even solitaire… The HP PhotoSmart Touch app basically turns your PC into a digital photo print station, kind of like the one you see at your local drug store. Put a HP PhotoSmart a510 or a610 compact printer behind the screen, and the photos slide out of the slot under the screen. Very cool stuff.”

Hardwarecentral has a review of the HP TouchSmart IQ770 and writes;

“For the sake of near-silent operation, HP opted for a mobile processor — AMD’s 31-watt Turion 64 X2 TL-52, with two 1.6GHz cores with two times of 512K Level 2 cache. The 320GB, 7,200-rpm Seagate hard disk and Nvidia GeForce Go 7600 graphics controller (with 256MB of dedicated video memory) have slightly better high-performance credentials than the CPU, but you shouldn’t expect the TouchSmart to set speed records. Our test system reported a perfectly adequate rating of 4.6 on Windows Vista’s 5.9-point Performance Index. For more ardent benchmarkers, that translated to a FutureMark PCMark05 score of 4,055 (CPU 3,214; memory 2,862; hard disk 5,515; graphics 3,310).”
