PCWorld reviews the HP Photosmart C5180, they write:
“The C5180 chalked up moderate scores in our speed tests. Text and graphics pages printed at roughly average speeds of 7.3 pages per minute and 2.8 ppm, respectively. Our 5-by-7-inch test photo printed in 45 seconds–close to the test-group average. Scans completed quickly, with our 4-by-5-inch test photo at 100 dpi taking just 7.1 seconds (only the Canon MP960 was faster, at 6.2 seconds). On the other hand, plain-paper copying averaged a slower-than-normal 2.1 ppm. The well-priced Photosmart C5180 has much to offer for printing photos and for sharing on a small network. It delivers high-quality glossy photos, but its plain-paper photo prints are not great. “
IT-Reviews reviews the HP Photosmart C5180, they write:
“There are no fewer than six HP Vivera ink cartridges, which are easy to load, long lasting and heavily fade-resistant. They are thus economical to use as you only replace the relevant colour when it disappears…HP claims the C5180 has ‘the world’s fastest photo printing speeds’, with 15 x 10cm (6 x 4-inch) images at ‘best’ quality in 12 seconds, documents at 32ppm in mono and 31ppm in colour. In practice the 15 x 10cm photos averaged around 20 seconds and typical text documents reached 10ppm, which is still admirable.”
CNET reviews the HP Photosmart C5180, they rated the printer 6.6/10 and write:
“The HP Photosmart C5180 is reasonably compact for a photo all-in-one with a flatbed scanner. Its glossy white-and-light-gray body measures 17.6 inches wide, 15.2 inches deep, and 7.4 inches tall, and weighs only 21 pounds…The good: Decent overall print quality and speed; built-in media card reader; inexpensive; lots of options for photo printing; network ready; support both Windows and Mac PCs. The bad: No PictBridge port; limited paper handling; fewer task options than printers in the same price range.”
Pocket-Lint reviews the HP Photosmart C5180, they rated the printer 7/10 and write:
“The A4 flatbed scanner provides an optical resolution up to 1200 x 2400ppi (an optimised 19200ppi resolution is available) while copying (which uses the scanner system) resolution is 4800 x 1200ppi. Scanning quality is remarkably good overall, with basic dust removal and colour correction processing that can be applied add further panache to the scanning package. Copy quality is adequate; colour wise it’s good but the slight linear patterns seen in the printing of photos get uglier in copies, even in the best copy setting.”
