New Spherical Monochrome Toner

HP’s new patented toner and redesigned print cartridges increase the precision of toner placement to deliver bold, crisp text and sharper images. Never before has HP incorporated this level of cartridge intelligence in a personal LaserJet printer. This printing system enhancement – a “smart” chip on the cartridge – enables communication between the printer and cartridge, and delivers automatic alerts when toner is low and lets customers easily shop for replacement supplies using HP SureSupply.

The spherical properties and uniform particle size of the new, patented toner enable a more efficient printing process, which leads to a smaller cartridge design that requires less plastic than previous generations of cartridges. This makes it possible to produce HP’s smallest LaserJet printers – the HP LaserJet P1006 – which not only uses 15% less power, but requires 10% less packaging as well.
