Stuff TV reviews the HP Compaq 2710p Tablet PC and writes;
“Pros: Carry-anywhere size. Build justifies price. Vivid screen. Cons: You can buy more for less. Less than snappy running Vista…The HP is light. Not as light as the freaky 1kg Toshiba, but plenty light enough at 1.68kg to swan from sterile office meeting to sterile office meeting without breaking a sweat.”

Pocket-Lint first-look reviews the HP Compaq 2710p Tablet PC and writes;
“Plugging in, in addition to the regular battery, HP has designed the module to be a thin sheet that sits under the laptop. Once connected its virtually seemless, but and here’s the great bit it will offer you a further 6 hours of charge giving you an overall total of 10 hours. Long enough for most long-haul flights.”

CNET.UK reviews the HP Compaq 2710p Tablet PC and writes;
“The lid and system unit are held together with a single strong clasp. The same clasp holds both together when the screen is rotated 180 degrees around its central hinge and laid flat facing outwards to work in Tablet PC mode. Build quality is very good indeed. The lid is robust and has little give, affording the screen good protection.”

“Even though the 2710p isn’t packed with features it is a lightweight solid tablet. If you are looking for a nice ultraportable with a solid design, sleek appearance, good battery life and great wireless options this may be for you. It is the perfect weight and size for users on-the-go.”

“Other good points include Centrino Pro wireless, delivering 802.11b/g/a Wifi with an optional antenna that pops out from the top of the screen to improve reception. A wired Gigabit Ethernet port is also provided, plus there’s Bluetooth as standard, together with a couple of USB2 connectors, an IEEE 1394 (Firewire) port and a slot for SD memory cards. A built-in webcam is another option on some models.”

PCpro reviews the HP Compaq 2710p Tablet PC and writes;
“Performance comes from the Intel Core 2 Duo U7600 and 1GB of RAM. The overall benchmark result is underwhelming at 0.54,but the U in the processor nomenclature signifies a low-power processor. The 1.2GHz U7600 has a TDP (thermal design power) of just 10W, which means less cooling, longer battery life and smaller dimensions.”

LaptopMag reviews the HP Compaq 2710p Tablet PC and writes;
“One of the 2710p’s strongest features is its keyboard, which feels much larger than it is. HP makes excellent use of the extra real estate the system’s 12.1-inch widescreen allows, with a good expanse for comfortable typing across broad key surfaces. There’s even a handy pop-up LED keyboard light atop the LCD that makes typing in dark trains and planes much easier.”

Tech.co.uk reviews the HP Compaq 2710p Tablet PC and writes;
“A standard clamshell design, the 2710p has a screen that can be twisted on its 180-degree pivot to fold and be used in slate mode. The digitised display measures 12.1 inches and is one of the brightest such panels we’ve come across. With an ambient sensor, the panel works well when out and about, with no signs of haze usually associated with Tablet PC screens.”

jkOnTheRun reviews the HP Compaq 2710p Tablet PC and writes;
“A very nice touch is how the cam rotates with the screen orientation, so if I make a Skype call while in portrait slate mode (something very cool to do sitting in a coffee shop) the cam rotates too. I tested this with a video call to Kevin and rotated the screen during the call twice and it successfully rotated the cam too. Useful and innovative in my book.
