+ REVIEWS:

CNET reviews the Guitar Hero II, they rated the game 9/10 and write:
“Those who found Guitar Hero tough will find even more of a challenge in the sequel. Songs on normal difficulty are much tougher than the equivalent level in the original game, with Guitar Hero II’s difficulty curve generally much steeper than the first game. Those with expert fingers will relish the challenge, although it’s much tougher for newbies to get on board….The bottomline:An expanded song list, great multiplayer and the introduction of a much needed practice mode all add up to make Guitar Hero II a worthy sequel. While the songs themselves may not be as fun to play as the first, Guitar Hero II is still a must have title for this holiday season.”

IGN reviews the Guitar Hero II, they rated the game 9.5/10 and write:
“One thing that made the first game great was its track list, and the sequel’s music selection is obviously paramount to its success. It’s all a matter of personal opinion of course, but in our eyes Guitar Hero II’s available tracks are at least as good as the original’s, if not better than, which is saying a lot…The first game was an absolute blast to play with a friend, and Guitar Hero II’s multiplayer takes things to the next level. One addition that we’re extremely thankful for is the ability for each player to independently choose a difficulty level.”

Gamepro reviews the Guitar Hero II, they rated the game 4.5/5 and write:
“First, it features 66 tracks spread out over 40 licensed songs and 26 additional bonus tracks–that’s 17 more than the first Guitar Hero…We also love the new multiplayer component, which includes cooperative, face-off, and pro face-off modes…Visually, Guitar Hero II hasn’t changed much. A new progressive scan mode sharpens up the visuals and the addition of a lag calibration feature ensures those with high-definition displays will always be on time with the music”

Gamespot reviews the Guitar Hero II, they rated the game 8.7/10 and write:
“The newer, tougher difficulty seems to come from an overlying desire to emphasize speed and crazy solos in Guitar Hero II, as opposed to the greater emphasis on classic riffs found in the first game. That’s not necessarily a bad choice–just a different one…It’s good that there’s a practice mode this time around, then. Since you aren’t able to play through songs in quickplay or the career mode without being tied to the rock meter (and potentially failing before you get to the end), the new practice mode lets you play through any of the songs without fear of failure.”
