“With the FPD2485W, Gateway offers a cost-effective 24-inch display that falls a little short of graphics perfection. While the picture quality out of the box is bright and vivid and the contrast ratio is excellent, you’ll want to fine-tune the display with your graphics card’s control panel. Nvidia’s current control panel offers an easy-to-use, basic calibration tool, while ATI users may have to fiddle a bit more. However, if you’re a photographer, a videographer, or you watch lots of movies on your PC, you’ll definitely want to do this..Gamers will enjoy the bright, richly saturated image quality, even if it might not be “video true.” And the display is ready for HD-DVD and Blu-Ray movies, with built-in HDCP content protection. Toss in VGA or component video for a game console, and you’ve got a complete solution. Document editors will appreciate the auto-rotation feature. At $679, it’s a great value, even if you do have to fiddle with it a bit. We predict this display will grace quite a few desktops in the near future. “
