Garmin Colorado 400t Reviews

GPS magazine reviews the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 and writes;

“Profiles are a quick, convenient way to optimize the Colorado’s settings from one type of activity to another. Colorado ships with the following five profiles pre-defined:Recreational, Geocaching, Automotive, Marine, Fitness…The Colorado uses Garmin’s own GPS receiver instead of SiRF’s high performance StarIII receiver. In side-by-side comparison testing, the Colorado performed identically to the SiRF-equipped Garmin GPSMAP 60csx, quickly locking on to satellite signals and maintaining solid reception. ”

DON’T GIVE UP YOUR GARMIN 60CSX!!!

I ran out and bought one of these new Colorado 400t’s and now I am so sorry. I had to replace it 3 days after I received it because the wheel on the front stopped working and I had to use both hands to turn the dial. The details at street level don’t exist. If you want to see the street names on the map, you have to move the cursor over that street. So it is worthless for driving in town. If the batteries go dead, you all of your trip history is gone. I have spoken to Garmin several times about software updates, but none so far. So if your thinking about trading your 60CSX in for the 400 series, DON’T DO IT.

Gamin says the Colorado has their own receiver in the unit. How does it rate compared to the 60csx(sirf3), aside from the wheel issue?
Thanks.
