CNET.UK reviews the Fujitsu LifeBook P1610 and writes:
“We found the LifeBook P1610 reasonably responsive when running mainstream business applications, although we’d advise upgrading the standard 512MB of RAM to the full 1GB — especially if you propose to run Windows Vista. Clearly with its 1.2GHz processor and integrated graphics, this is not a system you should contemplate running graphics-intensive applications on.”

BiosMagazine reviews the Fujitsu LifeBook P1610 and writes:
“The machine is extremely portable and well built to take everyday knocks and bumps. The screen is nice and bright, and the keyboard responsive. The only disappointments are the lack of an integrated video conference camera and cramped keyboard. Thankfully, embedded UMTS/HSDPA is an optional extra. If you don’t need raw power and a big screen, the LifeBook P1610 is a stylish Tablet PC ideal for those who frequently need to be connected on the road.”

CNET Asia reviews the Fujitsu LifeBook P1610 and writes:
“We tested the system using the synthetic benchmark PCMark 05, and it came up with a figure of 1506. By desktop replacement standards, this is pretty slow, but amongst its peers this is to be expected. PCMark is fairly multimedia intensive, and this demonstrates that the machine can do multimedia if pushed, but is perfect as a pen-and-paper replacement… ”

LaptopMag reviews the Fujitsu LifeBook P1610 and writes:
“We were impressed with the built-in microphone, which some Tablet owners use for oral notes or voice-recognition interfaces; it worked well at isolating nearby speakers. Of course, the tinny speaker will not play back that voice with great clarity, but this is one of the expected compromises made when shrinking a PC down to this scale. The microphone has dedicated software for controlling sensitivity and filtering. Fujitsu also includes a fingerprint scanner for security, and it read our enrolled digit easily and without frustrating errors…Pros: very light and portable, good performance, usable Tablet functionality, decent voice recording. Cons: insecure lid latch, resolution too high for the screen size, no touchpad.”

GoodGearGuide reviews the Fujitsu LifeBook P1610writes;
“Unlike most other tablets, the P1610 uses a passive digitiser, much like a PDA. This means users don’t need to use a special stylus to write on the display or tap on buttons and menus, and writing on the screen is also a more natural experience. A round slot on the right-hand edge of the keyboard houses the plastic stylus, that has a nifty retractable head to prevent pressing down too hard on the display…Perching the P1610 on a forearm feels comfortable, but its underside does get a tad warm. We found the screen size to be equivalent to a mid-sized notepad, ideal for scribbling notes using the included Windows Journal program. Although the P1610 doesn’t use an active digitiser, it’s still smart enough to distinguish between the pressure of a palm resting on the screen and stylus movements.”

CNET reviews the Fujitsu LifeBook P1610 writes:
“Our LifeBook P1610 test configuration cost $2,419 for a 1.2GHz Intel Core Solo U1400 processor, 1GB of quick 533MHz RAM, a massive (for a laptop of this size) 80GB hard drive spinning at a sluggish 4,200rpm, and an integrated Mobile Intel 945GM Express graphics chip. The tiny tablet performed admirably on CNET Labs’ mobile benchmarks, matching or besting the performance of larger ultraportables built around the same processor, such as the Fujitsu LifeBook Q2010 and the Sony VAIO VGN-TXN15P/W. Pitted against the $2,099 ThinkPad X60 Tablet, though, the LifeBook P1610 moves like a slowpoke; it just couldn’t keep up with the ThinkPad’s dual-core processor.”

Fujitsu craftsmanship and quality are included as a standard feature on our LifeBook P1610 notebook.
Shock Sensor
Fujitsu Shock Sensor Utility
In the event your hard disk drive experiences an excessive vibration or shock, there is a possibility that the read-write head will come in contact with of the rotating platter, resulting in a “head crash.” If this happens, data loss may occur. The Fujitsu Shock Sensor utility is a sophisticated hard disk drive protection system designed to minimize the likelihood of such an event.
Inside select Fujitsu notebooks and Tablet PCs there is an accelerometer that constantly senses for any sudden movement, including free falls, excessive vibration, or sudden impacts. Fujitsu Shock Sensor monitors movement from three axes: front-to-back, side-to-side, and up-and-down. The sensitivity can be adjusted by the user to accommodate different working environments.
If a sudden movement is detected, the read-write head is quickly retracted to a safe zone, reducing the possibility of a head crash and the potential loss of data. This technology reduces the risk of your hard drive being damaged and your data being lost forever.
