+ REVIEWS (last updated: 17/02/07)
PC World reviews the Fujitsu LifeBook A6010, they rated it 72/100 and writes:
“For most any mainstream buyer, the A6010 should be plenty of notebook. Other standard features include Bluetooth and Wi-Fi wireless communications; a dual-layer DVD burner; a generous array of card slots, including ExpressCard, PC Card, and three-in-one (Memory Stick, SD, and xD-Picture Card); a nice user manual; and Microsoft Works 8.5. The 4200-rpm 120GB hard drive is slow but offers ample storage….The touchpad-equipped keyboard is a winner, easy to type on with the extra conveniences of volume buttons and user-programmable quick-launch buttons. The mouse buttons are small but comfortable and include a nice extra: a centered biometric fingerprint sensor that doubles as a page scroller.”
CNET reviews the Fujitsu LifeBook A6010, rated it 5.9/10 and writes:
“The good: Beautiful, nonreflective screen; good application performance; low price. The bad: Pathetic battery life; lacks media controls; remote control requires external receiver; speakers sound tinny. The bottom line: Inexpensive but not cheap, the Fujitsu LifeBook A6010 offers a gorgeous screen and enough performance for basic home use–just plan on buying an extra battery.”
Notebookreview reviews the Fujitsu LifeBook A6010, and writes:
“The LifeBook A6010 has a couple of large vents, one on the back and one on the left side. The back vent is where the warm air is pushed out, which is great because it means it doesn’t blow onto the person using it at all. The A6010 does a really great job of staying cool… is a strong candidate for the choice of a desktop replacement notebook in the house. It’s light enough and strong enough to carry around the house easily. The screen and multimedia features are great.”
GoodGearGuide reviews the Fujitsu LifeBook A6010, rated it 4.5/5 and writes;
“While the A6010 is pitched as more of a consumer notebook, its conservative design makes it better-suited for business users. The gun-metal grey chassis is accented by a dark grey keyboard, display frame and speaker grill, and there’s none of the usual frills that typically accentuate a retail machine. The integrated fingerprint reader between the touchpad buttons ups the appeal for corporate folk, tying in with the OmniPass program for binding Windows, software and online passwords to enrolled fingerprints. Setting the fingerprint recognition up is relatively fuss-free thanks to the step-by-step tutorial.”
