Flip Video F160 Camcorder Reviews
CNET reviews the Flip Video F160 Camcorder and writes;
…you can’t toggle down the video setting to “LP” or “good” quality and double your capacity in the process. But that’s not a big deal, because we’d prefer to shoot at the best possible setting anyway since the video isn’t stellar to begin with.The bottom line: While the Flip is a slight upgrade over Pure Digital’s well-received Point & Shoot Video Camcorder, this year RCA’s Small Wonder EZ201
is the better choice for most buyers. ”

CEN reviews the Flip Video F160 Camcorder and writes;
“When I looked at the Pure Video Point & Shoot video camera, I liked almost everything about it. With the Flip Video, my impressions are the same. I like the portability of the camera and the lower $119.99 price for the 30-minute model and $149.99 for the 60-minute model. I also like the 640×480 video resolution, which looks fine on a TV.”
LaptopMag reviews the Flip Video F160 Camcorder and writes;
“You won’t find a cheaper way to capture video clips on the go. While the Pure Digital Flip Video Camcorder doesn’t offer the same video quality as low-end MiniDV camcorders (about $250), it’s perfect for shooting quick clips and is simple enough for anyone to operate.”

InternetVideoMag reviews the Flip Video F160 Camcorder and writes;
” So – should you pull out your credit card and buy this? I think so. The Pure Digital Flip Camcorder is small, easy to use and lots of fun. And it works. It runs on just two AA batteries and the operation is very simple to figure out. You don’t need to go to film school. The quality of the captured video and audio is sufficient for recording most family actives and events, and perfect for Internet video posting and email sharing. Because of the camcorder’s small size and ease of file transfer, this could be a great solution for capturing video while traveling. “

I haven’t seen anyone else having this problem, but I’ve only used it twice and when I was downloading videos to my PC, it said there was an Flip software update ready. But first, I had to remove my old Flip software. I think I did, but it was not very clear what I was supposed to remove, then the new software wouldn’t load. Now I have no way to view my videos because there is no Flip software on my camera or PC. I have looked everywhere for Flip download on the internet, but I don’t believe it is there anywhere.
Also, my on and off button is very difficult. I have to press it about 6 times to get it to turn on and actually have to shut off the whole camera to get it to turn off. I have contacted them and will see what they say.
Hi Lisa,
Did you get an answer to your question? I’m having the same exact problem! I’m hoping there’s a solution. I’ve also contacted tech support.
I am having the exact problem - anywhere to find that sofware to upload?
Did you contact the company in regrads to your software problems? There is an email form on their site http://www.theflip.com. They got back to me rather quickly. I am going back and forth with them.
I can’t even seem to get my software to work. As soon as I insert the camera the software opens, says reading video and then gives me a Macromedia Projector needs to close message almost immediately. I installed the update they gave me, but still no luck, same problem. And this is on two computers, very different computers, same problem on both.
