+ REVIEWS:
Pocket-Lint reviews the Epson R2400, they write: “The printer offers three excellent features in one: it can produce colour prints, black and white prints and it can also print CMYK proof prints of high quality. The software bundle provides comprehensive drivers so there’s plenty of control of colour; significantly, the printer has a special driver window for black and white output…The good: Excellent colour and monochrome print quality (particularly on the Velvet Fine Art media), Print longevity, Separate ink tanks. The bad: Price, build quality, roll media handing, Ink prices.”
Bios Magazine reviews the Epson R2400, they write:
“An added bonus is that its lightfast images should last up to 75 years in colour and over 100 years in black and white, making it an excellent choice for producing archival prints with amazing colour fidelity, gloss level, and scratch resistance…Paper handling is also impressive. There’s an automatic sheet feeder, manual feed for rigid thick sheet media, and a roll paper path (rollers supplied)…Print speed was reasonable, with an A4 print taking around 2m 59s and an A3+ image taking around 7m 30s - using best quality settings.”
Photo-i reviews the Epson R2400, they write:
“Print times are more than respectable - a full coverage A4 print takes approx 2 minutes 42 seconds and a full coverage A3 print took 5 minutes 41 seconds. The printer supports borderless printing, but not on media fed via the front manula feed slot. Ink usage was better than I had expected, the screen shot indicates less than half of each colour is still available. I produced 38 A4 prints and two A3+ plus prints - the matte black produced about 8 of the prints and one A3+ .”
CreativePro reviews the Epson R2400, they rated the printer 3.5/4 and write:
“The output tray has a particularly cool design: Pushing in on the closed tray causes it to pop open and slide forward. Although the printer case is entirely plastic, the printer has a solid, sturdy feel. Three simple buttons on the front provide all of the direct printer control that you need…While the printer does an excellent job of producing a truly neutral print, you can use the printer driver’s new toning controls to warm or cool a grayscale print, and even apply full-blown tinting effects. The toning control is very simple to use. An interactive color wheel lets you easily dial in tone.”
