Last Update: Review by IGN (added on 27/02/07)

Chew Man Fu (Wii) is a story about a young female monk who lives in ancient China during Egg Roll Dynasty. The players need to make way through over 50 action-filled levels and roll 4 magic spheres onto tiles that match the each sphere’s respective color, while avoiding enemies, in order to complete each level. It is developed by Hudson Soft for the TurboGrafx-16 and now on the Wii’s Virtual Console.

+ REVIEWS (last updated: 27/02/07)

IGN has a review of the Chew Man Fu (Wii) rated it 7/10 and writes;
“It’s a satisfying variant on an older genre that was more traditionally marked by its strict, uncompromising rulesets, and puzzler fans should certainly give it a look. Chew Man Fu rolls on a bit faster, too, with its array of additional modes. There’s a two-player version of the main quest. There’s a competitive, two-player kickball contest. And there’s a Create-Your-Own-Stage editing mode, where you can make your own mazes from scratch. That’s a fairly rare and fairly novel feature for a title from 1990.”

VC-Review has a review of the Chew Man Fu (Wii) rated it 4/5 and writes;
“The graphics and big, bright and colourful and the gameplay is smooth and quite presents quite a challenge as you progress. When you clear some of the later stages you can get a real sense of accomplishment!There is a 2 player mode, ‘kick ball’ mode and a editor to let you create your own puzzles. There aren’t so many of this sort of puzzle game made these days but at the time these games were a dime a dozen. That being said this is one of the better examples of the top-down puzzler genre. If you like puzzlers or crazy Japanese games this game was made for you!”
