Zenum unveils Opus Operis

The Opus Operis is a slim, sexy smartphone features WM5, tri-band GSM, an OMAP 750 processor, 128MB ROM, 64MB RAM, 2.5 inch QVGA display, 2.0MP digicam, Bluetooth 1.2 connectivity, 802.11 b/g, and a miniSD card slot. This handset goes on sale in November claimed by Zenum, however has not been confirmed.
The price and exact availability date of Opus Operis has not yet been confirmed.

Nokia 6288 3G Released

Nokia recently released 6288 slide phone that enables you to utilise 3G technology. The phone features a 512 MB memory card, a bright QVGA, 262,144 color display (320×240 pixels), and a 2MP VGA camera. The Nokia 6288 also includes dedicated camera and zoom buttons. Nokia 6288 will be available in the third quarter of 2006 with an price around 325 EUR before taxes.

Canon announces Selphy ES1

Sony will launch PS3 soon!

Sony will launch its latest Play Station 3 on 17th November 2006. According to gamesradar.com, “Sony has apparently delivered an order to a Taiwanese manufacturer, requesting mass production of PS3’s circuit board - a fundamental part of the PS3’s architecture.”
The PlayStation 3 will use Blu-ray discs as its media format. The discs can hold up to six times as much data as current-generation DVDs. It will also support CR-ROM, CD-RW, DVD, DVD-ROM, DVD-R, DVD+R formats. Sony also confirmed that the machine will be backward compatible all the way to the original PlayStation. It will also have slots for Memory Stick Duo, an SD slot, and a compact flash memory slot. It will also sport a slot for a detachable 2.5-inch HDD, somewhat similar to the Xbox 360’s.

Penny Arcade releases video game based on the story of “On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness,” for their first game. It is a comic adventure game for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux.

Bellevue, Washington (August 25, 2006) - The creators of online ultracomic Penny Arcade have joined forces with Hothead Games, an independent and experienced video game developer, to collaboratively create video games based on the Penny Arcade comic.
“We’re really excited to be working with Hothead Games on our first electronic adventure,” said writer Jerry Holkins, his clawed feet resting atop a huge slab of granite. “From the moment we laid eyes on them, it was clear they had the technical and creative chops to execute our grim vision. Now that we have pooled our strengths, our dark work may truly begin.” Holkins then paused to eat a rat whole.
The first game, entitled Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, will be a comic adventure game initially available for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux, followed by a version for next-generation consoles. The game will be available by digital download, delivered in episodic format with new installments of the adventure coming out several times a year.
Vlad Ceraldi, President of Hothead Games, says this new venture feels very comfortable for the team Hothead has assembled for the project: “All our developers are industry veterans with years of experience translating characters from other media into video games, having been involved with such hits as The Simpsons Hit & Run and The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. So working with Penny Arcade to create their first game is a natural fit, and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate with them.” Ceraldi added, “I’ve promised this with past games, and I stand by it: if the game sucks, I’ll eat my shirt.”
A release date for the first episode of Penny Arcade Adventures is to be announced.

Sony Launches HVR-V1U

Sony’s latest pro HDV camera, the HVR-V1U, features 3 CMOS, true 1920×1080, true progressive, 4:2:2. The camera itself, which boasts a familiar Carl Zeiss lens and is the first three-CMOS handheld on the market. The HVR-V1U will give a 25p option, as well as let them switch between HDV, DV and DVCAM recording and playback. According to camcorderinfo.com the expected price for the HVR-V1E is about $5800.
